S E PA High School MISSION STATEMENT We exist to give students the courage to pursue a future full of possibility. Principal Dannon Holley Greetings to our UPREP Parents and Guardians, On behalf of our entire team here at UPREP High School, I’d like to offer a sincere THANK YOU! As you are aware, often heard and experienced, “It takes a village to raise a child…” With that, we thank you for your partnership in this grand opportunity we have in teaming with each other to create well-rounded scholars and future leaders. You may have heard your son or daughter talk about our Six Pillars (Habits of Work and Scholarship) being an essential component to our success as an individual, school and community as a whole. Our six (6) pillars are as follows: • Cooperation: Working together towards a common goal where everyone contributes which creates synergy. • Accountability: The ability to take responsibility for your actions and your effect on self and team. • GRIT: The tenacity to preserve in order to accomplish a goal while overcoming obstacles and challenges. o G-Gumption o R-Resilience o I-Initiative o T-Tenacity Integrity: The quality of being honest and having a conviction to strong moral principles. • • • Socially Conscious: To be socially aware of the needs within our global society and willing to assist where deemed necessary. Commitment to High Quality: The personal interest in making certain that my individual contributions are a positive reflection of me. We ask that you join us in challenging your son or daughter in these six areas at home and in the community. Continued exposure, recognition and discussion will further increase their success in these habits of work and enhance their productivity socially and academically well beyond high school. As we continue our partnership in creating scholars and masters of learning, we will begin our 20142015 “ACT Saturday School Program” for our 11th graders. This initiative was well attended last year with maximum benefits for our students. ACT Saturday School will begin on Saturday, November 1, 2014 from 9:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. and will be held in the Purple Building. Please have your son/daughter speak with his/her CREW leader for additional information. Again, we thank you for embracing the UPREP mission and vision.
