If your church is planning to participate, please let us know before and after your event. We want to pray for each specific event, participants and clients and for God to use this event to lead many to Jesus Christ. Let us know if you still need projects. All ages, male and female, are encouraged to participate. Inasmuch is a great witness opportunity for our members to involve our non-church friends, neighbors and coworkers. Encourage your members to reach outside their comfort zone and invite others to participate. It's all about serving as the "hands and feet of Jesus". Matthew 25:40 "Inasmuch as you did for these, the least of these My brothers, you did it for Me." Mike Moser Thank You! Resource Center Hours The Resource Center is now open 5 days a week. We are open 8:30 am to 4:30 pm Monday through Thursday and 8:30 am to 12:30 pm on Friday. Others hours are available by appointment. Change in Financial Bookkeeper The Association has been outsourcing the bookkeeping responsibilities. We are pleased to announce the return of “in-house” bookkeeping and the return of Diane Waters. Diane is a member of Freedom Baptist Church and is no stranger to the Association, as she has filled this position in the past. She will begin this part-time position on June 1, 2016. Keeping the books in-house should give us more rapid response and consistent communication. We thank Peggy Yopp for her very competent and knowledgeable assistance over these past two years. If you are sending contributions to the Hanpstead P.O. Box, we thank you and ask that you begin to send checks directly to the Wilmington Baptist Association, 610 South College Road, Wilmington, NC. 28403 The Administrative Team, on behalf of the Wilmington Baptist Association, met on April 28, 2016 to thank Nathan Morton for his service as Moderator. Pastor Nathan served above and beyond the typical duties of a Moderator as he served through the transition of losing a Director of Missions. During the year without a DoM, Nathan functioned as an acting DoM while continuing to pastor a growing church. He was also instrumental in the calling of the current Director of Missions. We are forever grateful to Pastor Nathan for his leadership and his friendship. The Administrative Team, on behalf of the Wilmington Baptist Association, met on April 28th to thank Daniel “Booney” Joyner for his three years of service as Baptist Collegiate Minister. His love for the students at UNCW is exceeded only by his love of our Lord, Jesus Christ and in leading young people to a deeper walk with God the Father through active participation in local Baptist Churches. Thank you, Booney. Let’s pray for Booney as he searches for what God has in store for him career wise. As the school year at UNCW is coming to a close, so is Booney’s responsibility as Collegiate Minister. The WBA will continue to pay his salary and housing through August or until he takes another job. Associational Missions Emphasis Associations typically have a Week of Prayer for Associational Missions. The WBA used to celebrate this once a year. For some reason, this was discontinued a few years ago. Since then, the Association has significantly declined. It is time to call on God to renew this Association. This aligns with our emphasis on prayer. I believe this is pleasing to God. We will have prayer guides available within the next two weeks. These can be used as bulletin inserts or as stand-alone guides. Will you lead your church to pray for your Association one week in May or June? Associations typically receive a Week of Prayer for Associational Missions Offering. The WBA used to receive such an offering, but it was discontinued as was the Week of Prayer. Let’s reinstitute this offering, along with the Week of Prayer. Let’s also shorten the title to: WBA Mission Impact Offering. This offering will further the mission of the Association in providing a high level of service to the churches as we partner to fulfill the Great Commission. This will also provide a tool for churches to contribute to the Association without having to wait until the next budget year to do so. Send Baltimore Pastors and Key Leaders are invited to lunch with Rev. Ron Larson, NAMB Missionary coordinating “Send Baltimore”. Ron shared last year during one of our Monthly Pastors’ Lunches and was well received. He will be back in Wilmington at noon on Thursday, June 2nd. He will provide lunch and inspiration as he describes some of what God is doing in Baltimore and the many opportunities to join in evangelism and church planting in that city. The lunch will be free with a reservation. Contact Theresa or Roy to reserve your seat. 7,770,738 people live in metro Baltimore. 57.9% are unaffiliated with any religious body. 9.9% are affiliated with an evangelical church.
