Deciding to study at Ca’ Foscari means deciding to live in Venice: a very unique experience as living in Venice is so different from living in any other city. Venice is where past meets innovation. Every day this city offers to its residents – mostly students, the chance to stimulate their thirst for knowledge through its several and varied initiatives. Living Venice is living art, architecture, culture, development, research, attention to the environment, and discovering ancient traditions and different cultures. Venice means the chance to meet the whole world in every one of its small squares. Other not-to-be-missed events of the Venetian calendar are: •the Carnival, usually in February, involving all Venetian squares with music, parties and turns them into a kinds of outdoor club; •Redentore Festival (Festa del Redentore), a popular local festival, where Saint Mark’s basin fills up with local boats and the streets (the socalled ‘calli’) fill up with sumptuously laid tables for traditionally prepared dinners, awaiting the spectacular fireworks that light up the lagoon; •Biennale, an international exhibition, for art and architecture lovers, showing works of art and architectural projects by the greatest contemporary artists (from June to November) •Venice Film Festival, taking place in September in Lido, where emerging movie directors and influential artists show their new works; •For further events please visit www.turismovenezia.it / Contents / / University Buildings / A WORD FROM THE RECTOR The Buildings in Venice CA’ FOSCARI INTERNATIONAL PROFILE CA’ FOSCARI AT A GLANCE ITALIAN UNIVERSITY SYSTEM CHART EUROPEAN CREDIT TRANSFER AND ACCUMULATION SYSTEM (ECTS) CA’ FOSCARI FOR YOU BACHELOR’S DEGREE PROGRAMMES (FIRST CYCLE) MASTER’S DEGREE PROGRAMMES (SECOND CYCLE) Network PROFESSIONAL MASTER’ S PROGRAMMES PHD PROGRAMMES (RESEARCH DOCTORATES) Keep in touch with us!
