I was born and raised in St. Louis, MO and while the plains of beautiful Missouri hold a special place in my
heart, I continually find myself out west for the types of adventure denied to me when living among the
farmlands. I attended the University of Missouri – Columbia for my undergraduate degree in Environmental
Studies and English, but consistently found myself calling the Teton Valley home after spending every
summer with TVRC since I was 19. After spending this past spring participating in the High Mountain
Institute's apprentice program, I am thrilled to be returning home to TVRC for my fifth summer and my first
summer as the Head of Barn. In my free time I also love skiing, drinking coffee, playing with puppies, long
walks, good books, huckleberry ice cream and watching the sunrise while wrangling the ponies in for an
exciting day in the barn!

An old family hunting cabin in the sticks of Maine is home to some of my earliest memories. Whether
canoeing there or kayaking through the eel grass flats of Nauset Beach, I have always come home with dirty
hands and a wide smile. This love for the outdoors drew me to St Lawrence University in upstate New York. I
completed my undergraduate degree in May and could not be more excited to join the team at TVRC for my
first summer. At St Lawrence I was the President of the Hunting and Fishing Club for two years, and as an
avid fly fisherman I cannot wait to introduce this sport to campers. Having already welcomed dozens of people
to the sport at St Lawrence, I know the satisfaction and reward that comes with seeing a new angler catch
his/her first fish. I hope this respect for the sport and enthusiasm for teaching will translate into a guiding
position in the years to come. I could not be more excited to get started at TVRC and I am forever grateful for
the opportunity to share my experience surrounded by such a beautiful landscape and such wonderful people.

This will be my first summer at TVRC and I couldn't be more excited! I grew up in Fairfield, Connecticut, and
I'm going to be a senior at the University of Connecticut this fall. I'm currently majoring in English and Political
Science, with a minor in Human Rights. In my free time I like to read, ski and play piano, but my absolute
favorite thing to do is travel. Last spring I studied abroad in Cape Town, South Africa for a semester before
backpacking around Europe. Plus, I will be doing volunteer work in India with a group of UConn students
before I leave for TVRC this summer! While I'm a first-timer at TVRC, I've been out to Jackson Hole a few
times and I think it's one of the most beautiful spots in the world. I can't wait to get out to Wyoming and see
what adventures this summer has in store for me!

This summer will be my second summer at camp! Being an outdoor enthusiast I will return as the new
position of discovery director for boy's season and counselor for girl's season. During boy's season I will use
my experience of working with environmental groups in school and studying sustainability to launch the
sustainability initiative at camp! Additionally, I will be helping out with the discovery program. I cannot wait to
return to campfires and talent shows and see how all of the campers have grown throughout the year. Some of
my favorite memories come from performing in the talent show with Cabin Middle as the traveling gospel choir,
dressing up and putting on british accents in the backcountry for a Thanksgiving meal, and watching the
sunset over camp on our cabin's overnight camp trip. These are the memories that draw me back to the
community at Teton Valley Ranch Camp. Directly after camp I will be studying social justice and community
development in Valparaiso, Chile for a semester. The next semester I plan to continue pursuing my double
major in history and studio art at Williams College back east in the Berkshires! However, I am more than
ready to return to the ranch again to such a hard working, enthusiastic, and fun-loving staff and I look forward
to making new relationships with the campers coming to camp for the first time.

Oh those mountains! I first fell in love with the Tetons during a backpacking trip in 2011, and I am so excited
to spend the whole summer in this beautiful place! After making my debut to the world in East Northport, NY, I
did my growing up years in Atlanta. I attended college in the Blue Ridge foothills studying Public Health at
Clemson University. The rowing team was a full time job there, but I loved practicing during every sunrise and
sunset over Lake Hartwell. After college (Go Tigers!), I moved back to the city life for nursing school at Johns
Hopkins University. For the last few years, I have been working as a pediatric oncology nurse in Atlanta, loving
on my sweet baldies and their families. This past November I left my job to explore new places. I first spent
the month of December in New Zealand where I did my first ultramarathon and a five day backpacking trip.
Since January, I have been living in Denver, Colorado doing travel nursing on my days on and snowboarding,
mountain biking, and snowshoeing on my days off. I am so excited to combine my passions for kids, nursing,
and the great outdoors by spending the summer at Teton Valley Ranch Camp!

This will be my second year working at TVRC. Last year, I was a wrangler counselor and van driver. I was a 5
year camper and got to attend camp at all three locations. I graduated from Montana State in 2012 with a
degree in geology. I can answer any and all questions about the history of Wyoming and Yellowstone. I spend
my free time hiking in the Cascades, and watching a lot of baseball. Being on top of a mountain is one of my
favorite places in the world. I am looking forward to being a counselor again and leading trips. I can't wait for
the season to start!

Born and raised in Midland, Texas, my horizons were pretty small until I first came to Teton Valley Ranch
Camp as a Rough Rider in 2006. After that first summer at TVRC, I was hooked. I loved the range of activities
I was able to choose from, and more than anything, I loved going out into the backcountry, both hiking and on
horseback. This fall, I am going to be transferring in as a new sophomore to the University of Tulsa, where I
will be pursuing my interests in politics, energy, and the environment. This summer will be my 2nd summer at
camp as a staff member, and I am so excited to work, learn, and bring my own experiences to the wonderful
environment that I have come to know as a second home!

Hello! My name is Dakota Blaese, I was born and raised a small town in northern Idaho called Sandpoint. I
was camper at TVRC for four years when i was younger and now this is going to be my third summer as staff
member. I simply can not get enough of this place and these people, both are just too special. I am very
exited to get out on the trail and see some wilderness with familiar faces, as well as the new ones I still have
yet to meet! The Yellow Stone winds are indeed calling me back and I simply can not wait for that first day of
camp coming around the corner.

summers, and I am happily following in his footsteps. I am thrilled to be back on a horse, back on the trail and
back around the campfire with all the campers. The kids have made my experience at camp so worthwhile,
and I can't wait and spend my summer alongside such wonderful kids. This is going to be the best summer
yet!

Though I did not grow up in the great state of Wyoming, one trip out to the Tetons would forever imprint a
yearning for the TVRC experience once I was old enough. A second generation camper (my mom was the
first), I had five incredible summers at Teton Valley, from 2008-2012. I loved my time out here so much that I
decided to come back as a counselor and an infirmary assistant. A freshman at the University of Michigan, I
am pursuing a duel degree in Political Science and Environmental Science. I am also a part of the world
famous Michigan Men's Glee Club and Co-President of the Michigan Ski and Snowboard Club. I hope to share
my talents and maybe recruit a few singing campers for the Glee Club! My main goal this summer, however,
is to help enrich the lives of all the campers that arrive at TVRC this summer so they may have an amazing
and unforgettable experience!

While my family moved around quite a bit growing up, I was always fortunate enough to call the Teton Valley
my second home. It is going to be my seventh summer at TVRC, and I could not be more thrilled to return. I
am currently a sophomore at the University of Colorado Boulder. I am studying psychology with a minor in
education, and enjoy volunteering at a local elementary school in the Boulder Valley. Colorado is great for
hiking and skiing during the year, but nothing compares to the beauty of the Grand Tetons. I will be
backpacking around Southeast Asia for the month of June, and I am excited for the adventure. However, my
arrival in Wyoming will always be on my mind. I cannot wait to spend more time on the trail, and create
another memory filled summer with the amazing campers and staff!

spring, and I will return to Wyoming just two weeks after I get home from backpacking around the mountains
of Andalusia, Spain. I can't wait to bring some Spanish trail-cookin' love to my backpacking trip this summer.
While abroad, I've really been missing the smell of horses and sage in the mornings and I look forward to a
good Wrangle this summer. Above all though, I cannot wait to return to the wonderful community of TVRC.
The Yellowstone winds are calling me back again, and I am gladly following them home. Just thinking about
that driveway sends shivers up my spine. ¡Nos vemos pronto, TVRC! (See you soon, TVRC!)

I grew up in a big family with a huge appreciation for the outdoors, specifically the mountains, and after

venture over to the Tetons and join the staff of TVRC for the second year in a row. I am currently a student at
Colgate University in upstate New York, with a major in Education Studies and a minor in Philosophy. My
family’s long connection to TVRC has given me an appreciation for the camp and what it stands for, and
leaves me eagerly waiting to return this summer! I am most looking forward to the evening campfires, the

This will be my first summer working at TVRC, but I previously attended TVRC as a camper for four years. At
TVRC I found a passion for nature, hiking, and the wilderness. My love for Wyoming and the back country
inspired me to later go on a three-week backpacking trip across the Winds River Range in Wyoming, and later
to return to camp as a counselor. I cannot be more excited to return to a place full of adventure—from the
backpacking trips to the Sunday rodeos I can think of no place more exciting to spend my summer, and I am
especially grateful for the opportunity to work here. I spent last summer working as a counselor at a camp in
St. Louis where I taught theater; however, nothing can compare with the pure joy of being out West in one of
the most beautiful places in the country. I consider myself lucky to be part of the spectacular staff and can’t
wait to meet the campers.

Growing up in the town of Walpole Massachusetts I was able to learn my values of family and friends but
when I took my education to the southern hills of Vermont and the northern part of New York, just north of the
Adirondack State Park, I developed my love for the outdoors. This is my first season with TVRC but I can see
myself fitting in quite well because of my experience with being within such a tight knit community. Being the
President of the St. Lawrence University Outing Club I have had plenty of chances to lead other students in
and around the outdoors. I have many fields of employment, including an internship with Whiteface Mountain
Resort, a videographer position for New England Sports Network T.V show New England Boating and a
harvesting position for a local oyster farm, Big Rock Oyster. I am excited to arrive at TVRC and have the
chance to meet all the campers because looking back on my youth there isn't anyone that I learned from
more than my mentors both in the classroom and off the beaten path. With the continuous pressure of being
asked what’s next? I am looking forward to pursing my career in video production come the Fall of 2014, after
this amazing summer that we all have planned for us at TVRC.

majestic landscapes and natural beauty the surround us at TVRC are special, but it's the people here that
inspire me the most. I learned so many things from my fellow staff members, and even more from my
campers. Summiting a mountain is spectacular, but the feeling of summiting a mountain with a group of your

weeks, lived in a homestay during my two-month community service trip in Ecuador, another community
service trip in Peru, and have backpacked and gone whitewater rafting in Colorado to name a few of my more
memorable experiences. I remember just how special these trips were for me when I was younger and I'm so
excited for my TVRC campers to have the time of their lives! I just finished my sophomore year at Indiana
University where I am studying Journalism and Spanish while also playing on my school's competitive Club
Baseball team. I look forward to studying abroad in Spain for a semester next year where I can continue
traveling and learning about other cultures. But as for now, I could not be more excited to spend my next five
weeks at TVRC with some truly inspiring people and in one of the most beautiful parts of the country!

Having experienced all five years that Teton Valley Ranch Camp has to offer as a camper and their famous
Expeditions trip, I am more than thrilled to be returning back to my second home this summer. As a first year
staff member I am ready to learn how to make the summers of all the campers as amazing and gratifying as
mine were. I remember camp being a place where I was pushed to try new things and experience new
challenges which have given me unique strengths that I still use everyday. So I am ready to help guide my
campers to new heights that they never dreamed possible, whether that be to the peak of a mountain, or on
the back of a horse in a rodeo. Having just finished my first year of college I could not be more enthusiastic to
get away from the business of school and enjoy the beauty and serenity that the nature of Wyoming has to
offer, its going to be an amazing summer!

Hi everyone! My name is Madeleine and I am so excited to be returning to TVRC for my third summer as a
staff member! Having attended camp myself for yearling through trailblazer year, I am extremely attached to
camp and can't wait to share my love for horses and the outdoors with campers of all ages this season. I am
a rising senior at Scripps College in Southern California, and have spent the past three years playing varsity
lacrosse and pursuing a degree in Critical Media Studies with a minor in Psychology. Last fall I was fortunate
enough to study abroad in Florence, Italy, where I continued to fall in love with the outdoors, exploring the
Italian wilderness and embarking on skiing expeditions in the Dolomites. After a busy year of school and
travel, I couldn't me more excited to return to TVRC to make new memories with campers and take on all of
the adventures that camp has to offer this summer!

I grew up on a small farm in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, right at the border of North Carolina and
South Carolina. My summers were spent traipsing through the woods with my siblings then coming home to
cook meals with fresh vegetables from our garden. I'm incredibly excited about having similar experiences out
in the Wild West of Wyoming. In my other life, I'm a rising third year at the University of Virginia and am
studying Cognitive Science with a Neuroscience concentration. It's crazy to think that I'm halfway through
college. How time flies! I cannot wait for this summer and all the experiences and memories that it will bring.

While I grew up in the city, I've been lucky enough to spend much of what I would consider my formative time
in beautiful wild places, such as the Fox Islands in Maine, the White Mountains in New Hampshire, the woods
of Delaware. The experiences I've had in these places have ingrained a love for the outdoors within me that I
cannot separate myself from, especially when this experience can be shared with others. While I've only
spent two months in Wyoming, in the Absarokas and the Wind River Range, I already feel a deep connection
with the land and the spirit of the West and look forward to creating an identity, a home and a family at Teton
Valley Ranch Camp.

I grew up in a small town on our family farm which gave me the inspiration to apply for a position on the 2014
TVRC Barn Staff. I could not be more excited to be joining the Team for the first time. I look forward to sharing
my passion and excitement for the outdoors and getting to know each of the wonderful staff members and
campers this summer. As a student I attended many 4-H camps that helped educate me on the ability to train
and ride horses as well as the importance of safety needed on and around horses during trail rides and
rodeos. I am thrilled to have the opportunity to pass along this knowledge to others and am grateful for the
opportunity to experience the beautiful Teton mountains while doing what I love.

This will be my first summer at camp, and I'm super excited to be part of the Teton Valley Ranch Camp team.
After hearing about so many great experiences and the comaraderie at camp from my niece (who will be a
Top Hand this summer), I couldn't wait to be part of such a dedicated, dynamic group.
My nursing experience spans 12 years, and includes the Emergency Department, and my present work at a
Surgery Center.
More than anything, I enjoy being outdoors. One of my favorite things is trail running with my dog Gracie. I
love cycling, both road and mountain. But the best is incorporating all of these activities in a camping trip.
When it's time to kick back, I like to sew, knit, and pretty much just spend time getting "crafty".
I'm so thankful for this opportunity to share time with the campers. Although no one really wants to meet up in
the infirmary, I'll be there for whatever you might need. I do hope to come to know all the campers through
sharing some of the great summer fun TVRC has to offer!

At twenty five years of age, I have lived seven states, three countries, and spent time at three separate
universities. With that said of all the places I have lived and visited, TVRC is not a second home, it is my
home. I started going to camp when I was thirteen and finished at sixteen as a post wrangler. After graduating
high school early I spent time in India, Nepal, and Tibet before my first summer as barn staff. I made an quick
attempt at college in the fall. At the time, it just didn't take. I enlisted in the United States Army and quickly
found a new family. In 2010 I graduated from the three year long Qualification Course becoming a Special
Forces Green Beret. As soon as I donned my green beanie I volunteered for Combat Dive school and joined a
scuba team. In 2013 I spent seven months in Afghanistan conducting village stability operations in Kandahar
province. Once I finished my deployment I felt as thought it was the right time to begin school again. After six
short years in the service discharged and a week later returned to college in Austin, Texas. I know with
certainty my ambition and intestinal fortitude was seeded in the summers I spent at TVRC. It is truly a sacred
place to me and I will cherish it for the rest of my days.

passion for being an excited and positive role model to younger kids. I've been all over the east coast hiking,
camping, cooking, and enjoying life, so my experience there will boil over the west as I share my skills and
acquire more. Nothing is more fulfilling than immersion in nature, except for teaching others the excitement of

completed over 1,000 pieces over those 2 years. It was a terrible shame that personal things came up and
had to miss the big 75th anniversary celebration of 2013. I've procured some new and neat rock specimens for

trips near camp. Super glad to be returning!

As a recent Whitman College graduate, with a bachelors in sociology and goal to pursue physical therapy in
graduate school, I am excited to return to the Tetons for one more summer. Teton Valley Ranch Camp has
been my second home. At age 12 my family moved from St. Louis, MO to Victor, ID (a small town right out
side of Jackson Hole). The first experience I had in my new home was attending TVRC as a camper and
thanks to the four amazing summers that followed at the ranch, the transition was made easy. As a camper I
gained an invaluable appreciation for the mountains and a confidence to embrace any challenges life throws
my way. Having been a counselor two summers ago, I am excited to return back to the ranch for one more
summer of campfires, rodeos, and trips in the beautiful Wind River and Teton mountain ranges.

Girls' Season Position: Councilor
I'm from a small town called Victor Idaho which is located about two hours away from Dubois. My family lives
on a small farm with horses, chickens, and sheep. From a young age I have loved to ride, hike, and fish.
Being outdoors has always been something that my family has loved to do and we have spent many
weekends camping on Jackson lake, and other beautiful places in Idaho and Wyoming. I also enjoy playing
sports too. Soccer is my favorite, but I like to run and downhill/nordic ski as well. I am so excited to be a part
of the camp environment again. I attended camp when I was younger and loved every minute of it, and can't
wait to be a councilor during girls season!

Girls' Season Position: Fishing Assistant
I am currently a freshman at the University of Denver. I am a avid fisherman, love hiking and doing other
outdoor activities. I took a year off before college and had some amazing experiences. I started off doing an
internship in St. Louis Missouri at the Botanical Garden working with medicinal plants. I then did an internship
with NOLS and in-between took a NOLS backcountry skiing course with a focus on avalanche awareness. I
finished off my year as a fly fishing guide down in Patagonia which was amazing. I am majoring in
environmental science and have thoroughly enjoyed my first year at DU. I was a counselor last year at TVRC
and cannot wait to get back there this summer. TVRC was a great experience for me as a camper and I hope
it is the same for my campers this year!

I’m excited to be returning to camp this summer. I started at camp as a Rough Rider in 2004 and was lucky
enough to stay through trailblazer year and later completed the expedition trip. I’m excited to be returning to
camp this summer as barn staff. I look forward to sharing my knowledge of horses and the art of riding with
everyone. I was three days old when I had my first pony ride and ever since, I have been hooked. My whole life
I have been showing horse in various disciplines, my favorite is jumpers. I’m currently a Senior at the
University of Findlay in Ohio where I am working towards a degree in Animal Science, Equine Business, and
Equine Science with a dressage emphasis. After graduation I hope to own and operate my own riding facility. I
can’t wait for camp to start!

I am an Environmental Studies Politics major and History minor going into my junior year at Whitman College.
I love spending time outdoors, especially in the mountains. In my free time I enjoy trail running, swimming,
climbing and any other activity that may involve being outside. I was born and raised in the South Bay Area,
but I feel most at home on the trails in the Santa Cruz Mountains surrounded by a grove of Redwood trees.
This is my first summer at camp and I can't wait to try new things and be a part of this camp!

My name is Charlotte Yordon and this will be my third summer that I am lucky enough to be spending a full
summer on staff at TVRC! Next fall I’ll be entering my senior year at The University of Vermont studying
business and art history. After spending my spring semester living and studying in central London, I can’t wait
to hit the trail, soak up some sun and enjoy the incredible outdoors. Since my first summer at TVRC in 2004,
every summer has pushed my limits and created unforgettable memories and friendships. I’m looking forward
to being a part of all of the campers having AMAZING adventures and laughs all summer long!

Hi everyone! My name is Halle Yungmeyer, and I'll be cooking up some hardy meals for you this summer with
the rest of the kitchen staff. Although I was born in Denver, I was raised an East Coast girl and grew up in a
small town near the Smoky Mountains called Kingsport. I’m currently a student at the University of Virginia
studying Chemical Engineering. I love spending time outdoors in good weather and good company, and I
spent most of my childhood summers at an all-girls camp in North Carolina. After hearing about the incredible
experiences my two older sisters had while working at TVRC, I thought I’d take a break from chemical
engineering and see what the Wild West had in store for me! I’m tremendously excited to get to camp, meet
all of the other staff members and campers, and start having fun!! See y’all soon!
