SYNOPSIS
Inspector Santos Trinidad, a veteran policeman, is going through a rough patch. He drinks too much
and works too little. Once a respected and admired officer at the Intelligence Unit, an unfortunate
event that happened some years ago in Colombia cut short his promising career. Downgraded to
the Missing Persons Unit, Santos’ work is now restricted to the monotony of minor cases and endless beaurocracy.
After events turn sour one night, Santos finds himself implicated in a triple homicide in an afterhours club. Santos cleans up the crime scene and starts the hunt for the only witness, who managed to escape. Following the trail of the fugitive witness, Santos discovers a complicated and sordid
network of prostitution and drug trafficking that serves to finance a far more sophisticated criminal
plan. He is back doing the Intelligence work that he does best, although this time he is on his own.
The official police investigation begins to tighten the net around him, but Santos has begun his
own personal crusade: he finally has the chance to settle his own score.

After graduating with a degree in Information Science from the University of the Basque Country, Enrique
Urbizu directed his first film Your Girlfriend is Crazy in 1987, a comedy starring well known actors, Antonio
Resines and María Barranco. In 1991, he went on to direct his first thriller, Anything for Bread.
Urbizu left the Basque Country and headed for Madrid, where he directed two comedies for the producer Andrés Vicente Gómez; How to be Miserable and Enjoy It in 1994 and Infidelity in 1995. During this same period, he adapted and directed Arturo Pérez-Reverte’s novel Cachito for the big screen. This adaptation gave
him the opportunity to work on of another of the author’s novels, The Club Dumas. This second adaptation
became the film The Ninth Gate, directed by Roman Polanski and starring Johnny Depp.
In 2001, he directed the thriller Box 507, with Antonio Resines and Jose Coronado as the protagonists. The
film won two Goya Awards (the Spanish equivalent of the Oscars) as well as several other international awards.
The following year he went back to work with Jose Coronado on the film Life Marks, which was nominated
for two Goyas and won the Jules Verne award at the Festival du Cinema Espagnol in Nantes.
In 2006, he participated in Telecinco Films series of TV horror movies 6 Films to Keep You Awake, for which
he directed the film A Real Friend, which then went on to be distributed in the USA by Lionsgate.
He has been an associate teacher for seven years at Carlos III University and also teaches several courses at
prestigious film schools in Spain.
MICHEL GAZTAMBIDE
Scriptwriter with twenty years of experience working with the most important Spanish directors.
In 1991 he co-wrote the film Santa Cruz, The Guerilla Priest, by Jose Mª Tuduri. His next projects
included co-writing the feature films Chatarra (1991) by Feliz Roteta, Vacas (1992) by Julio Medem
(for which he was nominated for a Best Screenplay Goya and won the Writers Guild Award in the
same category) and Yoyes (1998) by Helena Taberna.
In 2001 he began his creative relationship with Enrique Urbizu, writing two of his most publically
and critically acclaimed films, Box 507 (2001) and Life Marks (2002).
Recently, he has been involved in the scripts A bit of Chocolate (2008) by Aitzol Aramaio and El
Idioma Imposible (2010) by Rodrigo Rodero. Now, he has once again joined forces with Enrique
Urbizu , writing the script: No Rest for the Wicked.

The company is also taking part in one of its most ambitious cinema projects to date: J. A. Bayona´s
The Impossible, with international stars Naomi Watts and Ewan McGregor.

Set up in 2003 by Ignacio and Gonzalo Salazar-Simpson, LAZONA is a Spanish film and theatre
