Hoover Country Club welcomes Jon Oliver as our new
Director of Instruction. Jon has worked in the golf
industry for over 16 years and began his instructional
career as an owner/teaching professional of GolfTEC
back in 2005. After deciding he could better fulfill his
aspirations as an instructor at a green grass facility, he
made his way to Eagle Point in 2010. He is a strong
player, accomplished teacher and a consummate
promoter of the game of golf. Jon creates a welcoming
atmosphere for family and friends to enjoy the game of
golf and gives easily understood lessons that build
repeatable skills and yield lasting results. Over 15,000
lessons have been taught by Jon in his 11 years of instruction and he welcomes
the individual challenges from beginner to touring pro. Technology certainly plays
an important role in each lesson given by Jon. He is fluent with V1 Teaching
software, JC Video and Hudl Technique and is currently using the SKY Trak
launch monitor and Sky Pro Swing Analyzer to get the most out of his students.
Get in touch with Jon today at [email protected] or 205-275-0612 to
schedule you initial swing analysis and get on your path to more consistent golf.
Jon will be starting a golf blog and sending out video tips beginning this month so
don’t forget to check your email for updates!

nine holes. Players in three separate handicap divisions
and one low gross qualifier will comprise the field. On
each hole, one contestant will be eliminated leaving only
two contestants competing on the last hole for the
championship. Players will be given their handicap
strokes where they fall on each of the nine holes. To be
eligible for the event the player must qualify as prescribed
by the qualifying format.

days. Anyone wishing to qualify must purchase an official
scorecard from the golf shop at a cost of $5.00 each prior
to teeing off. The qualifying format will require a player to
turn in an attested score which is either one of the low net
scores in his handicap division or turn in the lowest gross
score for the qualifying period. Handicap ranges will be
(0 to 5), (6 to 11), (12+).
