Doodle for Hunger ® XV On Thursday November 6, 2014, St. Francis Food Pantries and Shelters held its 15th Annual “Doodle For Hunger®” XV Celebrity Art Auction and Gala at Pier Sixty/Chelsea Piers. Colorful and original signed works of art, or “Doodles,” created by actors, artists, sports icons, politicians and more, were auctioned off for charity. The Guests of Honor were Mariano Rivera, Legendary New York Yankees Closer and Tony Orlando, Musical Icon (“Tie a Yellow Ribbon Round the Ole Oak Tree”) who thrilled the crowd with his classic hits. Margo and John Catsimatidis were the Presenting Sponsors of this special event. Hosted by Fox 5’s news anchor Ernie Anastos, this exciting occasion included a cocktail party and buffet, “Doodle” preview and Silent and Live auctions. The Live Auction was led by acting great Tony Lo Bianco and Kathleen Guzman, professional auctioneer from Heritage Auctions. The evening was attended by over 800 guests and raised more than $700,000 to benefit St Francis Food Pantries and Shelters. Mariano Rivera and Tony Orlando.
