Getting Started at AFA “Building Dreams, Creating Business Owners across America” 1) Fill out the AFA New Agent Form. Read and sign AFA Agent Agreement and AFA Agent Promotional Guidelines. When finished, return all three to your manager. If you are not currently Insurance licensed go to www.testeachersonline.com/afa to get started. 2) Once you have completed step one, go to www.americanfinancialassociatesinc.com, and sign up for AFA Back Office the cost is $39.95, 54.95 or $69.95 per month, ask your manager for differences. You must be signed up for the AFA Back Office and have access to a computer to go through Training. 3) Go to www.afacontracting.com login: afaagent Password: signmeup. Contract with Transamerica, Security National Life, United Home Life, Kemper Life ,Gerber Life, and Family Life. You must attach a copy of your state insurance license, E & O Certificate (if needed), Anti-Money Laundering and voided check with each contract. When finished, return them to your manager. If you cannot contract with the carrier’s listed above, contact your Manager for alternatives. Watch the Contracting Instructional Video under the Career tab, under Recruiting for instructions on how to complete correctly. ***If you do not have E & O insurance, you can purchase E & O liability insurance at: www.eandoforless.com ***If you do not have a current Anti-Money Laundering Certification, dated within the last 12 months, go to www.aatx.com choose "Marketing and Sales" user: aml password: course. Make sure to print or save your Certificate once completed. 4) Speak with your Manager to schedule and overview your AFA Training Modules. 5) HIGHLY suggested Lead Orders: Week 1 and 2: Order and pay for a minimum of 15 to 20 Telemarketed Leads. Week 3 and beyond: Order and pay for a minimum of 10 Telemarketed Leads. (May substitute Telemarketed leads with 1000 direct Mail Piece order), add internet aged leads and dialer program to increase weekly sales. 6) Most importantly, be prepared to make MORE MONEY than you ever have and have MORE fun doing it! This Agreement is as of the compliance date of the privacy and Security Rule as defined herein. This agreement is made between the Agency and the Agent. The Agent shall be considered a SubProducer/Agent of the Agency. He or she shall act, and be treated accordingly. This agreement shall run for an indefinite period subject to termination at any time by either party. This Agreement will automatically be terminated upon cancellation of either party’s state license. APPOINTMENT: The Agency appoints the Agent to solicit new agents as well as all forms of insurance and investment products, provided he or she is licensed for the type of coverage solicited. The Agent should act with the client’s best interest when soliciting any of the products through American Financial Associates, Inc. The Agent further agrees to provide service to all clients he or she has solicited. COMPENSATION: All compensation from personal business or overrides from their sub-agents will be paid from each individual insurance company. If any individual insurance company is not able to pay direct or is not setup to pay direct, American Financial Associates, Inc. will process the carrier’s compensation to the Agent. All compensation will be paid indefinitely unless the following conditions occur: 1) The Agent no longer maintains an insurance license 2) The Agent terminates or is terminated from this Agreement ERRORS & OMISSIONS COVERAGE: This coverage is required immediately for certain, but not all companies. The Agent must show proof of coverage from his or her E & O carrier of choice when requested by the Agency. Page 1 of 3 ADVERTISING & REPRESENTATIONS: The Agent shall use no advertising material, prospectus, proposal or representation, either in general or in relation to a particular policy of the Agency, unless furnished by or approved in writing by an Agency principal. Back Office: The Agent agrees to pay $39.95 per month, for the AFA Back Office, or $64.95 per month for the AFA Premier Back Office for the duration in which they are contracted through American Financial Associates, Inc. The cost of the AFA Back Office will include Multi Carrier Life quoting system, Recorded Training Modules, ongoing Training and Support, , company email address Recruiting, Personalized Recruiting videos and discounted leads. The cost of the AFA Premier will include all of the above along with a complete CRM System, email campaigns and replicated website. If the Agent decides to terminate the Back Office, the Agent must notify American Financial Associates, Inc. in writing 5 days prior to your billing cycle. There are no refunds for the Back Office. The Agent also agrees to pay an additional $25 for any return payments or insufficient funds notices issued on their payment method. The Agent also realizes that non-payment for the Back Office immediately cancels the Back Office which includes all the lead programs, and other programs provided to them through American Financial Associates, Inc. ASSIGNMENT: No assignment of this agreement or compensation hereunder will be allowed, unless approved by agency principal. INDEBTEDNESS: During active service or upon termination, the Agent is responsible for his or her portion (based on compensation level at time received) of any and all indebtedness caused by personal production, personal or business loans, persistency, death, disability, roll-up debit accounts from themselves or their sub agents, or any other cause. or any other cause. If a balance is not available through legal action, the Agent has thirty days from date of notice to pay the debt. If this debt has not been satisfied in a timely manner, the Agent agrees through this agreement to assign any and all future compensation until such a date that the indebtedness has been satisfied. The Agent may also make payments to the Agency providing the debt is satisfied within a 90-day period of time from the date notified. The Agency also reserves the right to place this assignment unto the estate of a Agent that has passed away. TERMINATION: Either party may terminate this agreement with a thirty day written notice. All unpaid first year commissions and renewals will be paid directly by each carrier subject to each individual’s contract provisions. TERMINATION FOR CAUSE: If the Agent is found to have intentionally misrepresented the products or services of any of the carriers or American Financial Associates, Inc. or if an agents sells any AFA exclusive discounted leads to other companies not through AFA, or if your lead persistency falls under 25%, you will be removed from the back office and this could be grounds for terminated. Page 2 of 3 ENFORCEMENT: Should the enforcement of this contract be required, it is agreed that all costs (including legal) and or damages incurred to enforce the provisions of this agreement will be the sole responsibility of the party that is found to be at fault. RELEASES: All releases shall be granted after 15 days of a written request as long as the following occurs: 1) The Agents signs the AFA release agreement 2) There is no money owed to AFA from any agent charge backs or any debit roll-up. 3) There is no outstanding debit account with any carrier that cannot be paid off with current in force business. AMENDMENTS: The Agency shall have the right to amend this Agreement or its provisions or terms of compensation, but such amendments shall not affect any rights accruing or compensation earned prior thereto. The amendments are deemed to be effective upon the date of written announcement. FAILURE TO COMPLY with any or all of the above conditions will result in immediate termination of this Agreement and the loss of any sub-agents that were requited by American Financial Associates, Inc under his or her hierarchy.
