User Guide For Operating The
Model 3206G
Getting Started:
• The meter base, form and voltage must be selected first before the meter is inserted into the socket.
• Changes to base, form and voltage are not allowed while a meter is installed in the socket.
WARNING: The meter cover is required to safely insert as well as remove the meter from the socket.
Meter Form – Base Selection
• Use the base selection button to scroll to the meter base option first.
• The meter form will default to the lowest form number supported for each of the base selections.
• Available base selections are:
“S” - ANSI C12, socket base meters
“A” - ANSI C12, “A” base or bottom connected meters, WECO single phase or polyphase adapters required.
“Q” - Sangamo / Schlumberger Quantum socket base meter requiring additional auxiliary power connections.
“K” - Landis + Gyr “K” base meters, manufactures single phase or polyphase adapters required.
• The base selection function is circler.
• Use the form up/down buttons to select the meter form after selecting the meter base.
• Only supported meter form numbers will be displayed.
• Pressing and holding the form up or down button will cause the form number to increment or decrement continuously.
• The form up/down selection function is circler.
Meter Voltage Selection
• Use the voltage up/down buttons to select meter voltage.
• The available voltage ranges are 0, 120, 240 480 volts.
• For the 240 and 480 volt ranges applied to polyphase meters, we apply a 3 wire service voltage to the meter so that
TWACS™ can communicate to the meter.
• The meter voltage up/down selection function is not circler.
Meter Current Selection
• Use the current up/down buttons to select meter current.
• The meter current up/down selection function is not circler.
• The meter current can be selected before the meter is inserted into the socket and can be changed while the meter is
installed in the socket.
Meter Release Function
• Pressing the meter release button will de-energize the meter and then open the socket jaws to allow for meter removal.
Voltage and Current Indicator Lights
• Line Voltage Indicator Light will be on anytime voltage is applied to the meter.
• Current Indicator Light will be on anytime current is applied to the meter.
• Load Voltage Indicator Light will be on anytime voltage is detected on the load side of a self contained meter.
Note: On most meter forms it will be required to de-energize the current (select 0 current setting)
after opening the meter disconnect switch, to turn off the load side voltage indicator.

Warm-Up Stations For AMR Modules
Model 3206G
Watthour Engineering’s Model 3206G Meter Warm-Up Station for AMR
Modules has been specifically designed for meters that utilize the DCSI
TWACS™ power line carrier communications module. Additionally, this
versatile unit includes voltage output and voltage input connections that
allow you to test additional brands of power line carrier modules when using
the manufacturer’s supplied module. The Model 3206G can even be used
as a simple meter warm-up station. The Model 3206G is a stand-alone unit
that requires no additional PC or hardware for general operation. Watthour
Engineering’s advanced Smart Socket™ technology allows you to insert a
meter into the socket with minimal force. Clearly visible LEDs indicate when
voltage and current are being generated by the unit. With both Line Side
Voltage and Load Side Voltage LED indicators you can determine if the meter
disconnect is operating correctly. Each socket in the Model 3206G is a 19”
rack mount design, so should a problem arise, a single socket can be removed
for service leaving the other sockets operational.
Model 3206G applies voltage and current these
include:
• Selectable voltages of 0V, 120V, 240V or 480V
• Selectable currents of 0A, 10A, 40A or 50A
for left element
(no current source for center or right elements)
• S-Base Forms:

• Q Base Forms:
Form 5Q
(this is Form 5A that requires auxiliary power)
Form 9Q
(this is Form 9A that requires auxiliary power)
• K Base Forms:
The Model 3206G’s
simple, user-friendly
interface ma kes
operation of the unit a
snap. Just select a form
and base using the scroll
selector, select a voltage
output for the voltage
output connector (0V,
120V, 240V or 480V)
and current (0A, 10A,
40A or 50A), and insert
a meter into the socket.
The Model 3206G does
the rest, providing the
selected voltage to the
output connector and
the selected current to
the meter’s left element.
