Dear Quilting Sisters, Hope you all enjoyed the presentation on yo yo's. It was excellent, and I can't wait to do some of the projects. The Fair was very good this year. All entries were down, but it had some of the most beautiful and unusual fiber arts projects that I have ever seen. Come to the July Sit and Sew on the 17th, and make a Fourth of July table runner. Please be sure to thank Ann Endsley and Debby Higging for TEMPORARILY taking over the duties of the refreshment table. We will need someone to take this on permanently. The July meeting will be "Picnic" foods, and we will play a game called, "Left, Right, and Center. It's a fun and funny game so bring 3 fat quarters to play. Call me if you have any questions, concerns, or comments. ! ! I will be calling the ladies that signed up to help plan some time in the next few weeks, and the ladies that also sighed up to help plan the retreat I will also be calling you too! Cottons especially would be very welcome. Maybe your own stash has some fabrics that could be "out of date". Yes, even fabric goes through a popular period (like mini skirts and bell bottoms) then goes out of style. Soooooo, we will be happy to receive your poor, old, out of style, fabrics. Many thanks. Flo Souza 760.868.3353 [email protected] In July we will have "do your own thing" but I am working on a quilt of my design to offer to teach at the August Sit & Sew. There will only be a small amount to cover the cost of printing the pattern as it will be in color. I plan to show the quilt at the regular July meeting to see what the interest will be. There are times when fusing the fabric will not work, such as when the fabric is something delicate, like chiffon. Damaged delicate quilt pieces can be really difficult to replace. Try trimming the fabric to a size a little bit bigger than the piece being repaired and re-quilt it, folding the sheer edges and stitching along the section's existing lines. West Winds is blowing again. Our meeting will be held on the 26th of June. Time will be 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. The meeting is open to any guild member who is willing to travel to the west. Flo (760-868-3353) will host West Winds in June. ! 10. When you have completed all of the repairs that you have noted down, have a last look over the repaired quilt.
