at the meeting you received a list of More

In the list there
were lots of

Dear Quilting Sisters,
Hope you all enjoyed the presentation on yo yo's. It was excellent, and I can't wait to do some of the
projects.
The Fair was very good this year. All entries were down, but it had some of the most beautiful and unusual
fiber arts projects that I have ever seen.
Come to the July Sit and Sew on the 17th, and make a Fourth of July table runner.
Please be sure to thank Ann Endsley and Debby Higging for TEMPORARILY taking over the duties of the
refreshment table. We will need someone to take this on permanently.
The July meeting will be "Picnic" foods, and we will play a game called, "Left, Right, and Center. It's a fun
and funny game so bring 3 fat quarters to play.
Call me if you have any questions, concerns, or comments.

Hi Ladies
I will start taking the money for the bus
trip and class at the next meeting. The bus trip is
to Quilt In A Day, and for those going, the cost is
$30.00. I will also be collecting for the October
free motion quilting class. The cost is $25.00 and
the class will be on October 21.
Mark the dates, the bus trip is September
23 more info to come, but we still need to find a
place to meet and park our cars if anyone has a
place let me know. October 17-19 is the quilt
retreat, September’s sit and sew is pumpkins and
maybe a fall table runner.
Thank you
!
I heard form everyone that they really liked
the lecture on the Yo Yoes, so because you liked her I
am going to book her for her trunk show and maybe
a class, but not sure on the class yet.
The September tea and fashion show still
need to be planned. I will be calling the ladies that
signed up to help plan some time in the next few
weeks, and the ladies that also sighed up to help plan
the retreat I will also be calling you too!
Next month at sit and sew Mary Walker is
going to show us how to make a casserole cover. The
cost is going to be $5.00 to be given to the guild
other then the cost of printing patterns.

UPCOMING SHOWS
July! Hope everyone
had a great day celebrating the
Birth of our Nation!
Sewation in July will have the Liberty/
Independence theme! So, Tuesdays, July 8, 22, and
29 we will get together. I am still trying to get my
UFO's together to work on. I don't know why, but I
am always able to find something else to create
another UFO. Maybe it's an attention span
disorder? Smile!
Thanks to Dave Binnquist, Sewation Ladies in
June, had a chance to "see" and "try out" the table
quilting machine called George!
Think picnic without the bugs, and come to join in
the fun. See you Tuesdays!

Roberts Rules of Order...........
Maybe it is time to begin thinking about the positions that will be available in November for the year beginning in
2015. Remember, everyone needs to be involved in some capacity. It helps prevent burnout and promotes a
greater understanding of club activities.
As promised, according to Robert's Rules of Order the duties of the President are presented here for you. We will
present the duties of the Treasurer in our next Newsletter. Please remember that clarification for these offices are
contained in the Guild's By-Laws which are being discussed as we present this information to you. Be involved,
help Sara Arnold by contributing a little time to help her in this endeavor.
President: Duties: Open the meeting at the required time by calling members to order.
Announce business to be discussed in order to be acted upon
State and put to a vote, all motions made regularly and those that arise during the meeting.
Announce results of a vote on motions.
Restrain members engaged in debate within the Rules of Order (even to
adjourn the assembly as a last resort).
Enforce order and decorum at all times for all assembled.
Decide all Questions of Order (subject to appeal)
Inform assembly about a point of order or practice as needed.
Authenticate by signature, all acts, orders etc. when necessary.
Represent and Stand for the assembly in general, declaring its will and obeying its rules.
That's it! Simply stated! The actual functioning is set forth in Article VII. The Officers and Minutes, Section 40.

The Bargain Table desperately needs some
new additions". Cottons especially would be very
welcome. Maybe your own stash has some fabrics
that could be "out of date". Yes, even fabric goes
through a popular period (like mini skirts and bell
bottoms) then goes out of style. Soooooo, we will
be happy to receive your poor, old, out of style,
fabrics. Many thanks.

In July we will have "do your own thing" but I am
working on a quilt of my design to offer to teach at
the August Sit & Sew. There will only be a small
amount to cover the cost of printing the pattern as it
will be in color. I plan to show the quilt at the
regular July meeting to see what the interest will be.

These are the last two pointers. This information is found on

9. There are times when fusing the fabric will not
work, such as when the fabric is something
delicate, like chiffon. Damaged delicate quilt
pieces can be really difficult to replace. Try
trimming the fabric to a size a little bit bigger than
the piece being repaired and re-quilt it, folding the
sheer edges and stitching along the section's
existing lines.
West Winds is blowing again. Our meeting will
be held on the 26th of June. Time will be 9 a.m. to
11 a.m. The meeting is open to any guild member
who is willing to travel to the west. Flo
(760-868-3353) will host West Winds in June.
!
10. When you have completed all of the repairs
that you have noted down, have a last look over
the repaired quilt. This will ensure that everything
you have done matches, and that you have done
everything properly and haven't missed anything.
