WELCOME
Dear Players,
The Michael Chang Tennis Classic is back for 2015 and we are so excited to have you be a part of this year’s tournament and festivities! Each
year, our charity tournament continues to grow and we feel so blessed to be able to host one of California’s best tennis events while continuing
to give back to the communities around us.
Once again, we welcome HomeAid OC as our main beneficiary this year as they continue to do a fabulous job in building and providing shelters
and homes to those less fortunate. We are making a difference through MCTC and your participation and support are key components to having
a successful event!
We want to also thank all of our MCTC staff and volunteers who have worked so hard to make this tournament what it is today! We appreciate
all your efforts and sacrifice!
Have a wonderful tournament and we hope you not only play well but that you will also feel touched and inspired by the reasons and purposes
behind the Michael Chang Tennis Classic! We believe that tennis is a sport created to bring people together for fellowship and fun and if we
can help others along the way, it’s even more rewarding to be a part of such an event!
Thank you again and we look forward to seeing your great shots and happy smiles on the courts soon!
Take care and God bless!

HomeAid’s emergency housing development program is focused on helping homeless families and children. Orange County’s housing
market is one the most expensive in the nation and the gap between rental costs and median family income has been one of the largest
contributing factors to the number of homeless in Orange County.
For most families, homelessness is not a result of substance abuse or illness, but is caused by financial loss, family problems and from
simply not having a job that pays enough to afford monthly rental costs. Research indicates that more than 80% of the total homeless
population includes women, children, and families that experience a life-altering event such as job loss, natural disaster, divorce, abuse,
or a medical condition that drives them to homelessness.
So often, those not familiar with the issue of homelessness are surprised to learn that there are nearly 13,000 who go homeless every
year in Orange County and that 63% of those residing in shelters are families with children. When the crisis of becoming suddenly
homeless occurs, it is HomeAid’s goal to ensure that housing is available in our community so that families have an immediate safety net
where they can find the resources and assistance they need to get back on their feet.
On behalf of the board of directors, staff and those we serve, I would like to thank the Chang Family Foundation and all of you for
supporting HomeAid through the Michael Chang Tennis Classic this year.
Best of luck to those participating in the tournament!
Sincerely,
Scott Larson, Executive Director, HomeAid Orange County
Healdsburg, California

Dear MCTC Sponsors & Participants:
What a privilege it is for HomeAid Orange County to once again be the named co-beneficiary alongside the Chang Family
Foundation at the 2015 Michael Chang Tennis Classic. This has proven to be a successful partnership with strong value
alignment and synergy between the two organizations. The programs and shelter development projects run by HomeAid
Orange County continue to make great strides in our local communities. We are truly grateful for the generosity and support of
the Chang Family Foundation. HomeAid’s holistic approach to end homelessness in Orange County through advocacy,

opportunity to move from benches to beds, to self-sufficiency. Over 50,000 homeless families and individuals have been
positively impacted by HomeAid’s 53 completed developments and programs since 1989.
