The Floor Tech A Floor Tech is an important person. His job is to keep the floors clean and shining. The Floor Tech uses a dust mop, dust pan, broom, scrubber machine and a buffer to shine the floors and make them look like glass. He mops and, when the floor needs to be shined, he takes the buffer. Sometimes the Floor Tech needs to strip it also. That is a very important job. There are many people who don’t respect the Floor Tech’s job. For me, it does my heart good just to look back at all the labor I put in to keep the floors looking good. I put ME in what I do. Clean shiny floors are my signature. By Leonard Jones Work I work at Musashi Japanese restaurant. It’s located on South Glenburnie RD in New Bern. I work as a waitress. At Musashi, there are 14 employees. Four are waiters and waitresses. Five are hibachi chefs. Hibachi means the foods that cook on the grill. One is the hostess and one is the sushi chef. Three are bus-boys and dishwashers. All employees are nice and they are helping each other. I like to work at Musashi because my employer, he’s kind and nice. NEWS Read All About It! By Juanita Hernandez By Yutra Paw My Poem is About Flowers Oh how the flower likes it in the spring when a shower comes. There are thousands of bees to drink the pollen from flowers. Now here comes a cloud of bees. By: Brittany Lynn Swanner My Mother’s Love Jeffery Sawyer’s Mothers The only grandmother that I remember was my mother’s momma, Sue. She and Momma looked a lot alike. My Momma was a single parent. And even though she could not hear, she took good care of me. I love you Mom! I miss you! My family misses her, too. We know that she loved us. In loving memory of Sudie Hicks By Jeffery Sawyer My Poetry About School School, school I like my job at Arthur Edwards School. School, school I work in the library. School, school I have many friends at college. School, school Miss Linda is my teacher. My mother is a good person for me. Always she showed her love to me. She taught me a good way all the time. She taught me how to cook. She taught me how to clean and how to speak. She took me to Church to get Jesus’s love. She took me to school to get knowledge because she wanted me to be a good person in my life. One day she called me and said “Come sit here. I will tell you something.” I came and sat together with her. “I want you to be good leader for your people. So please learn about how to help people who need help. They will be happy when they get your help.” So mother is a good teacher, and true and full of love. So, I love my mother, and God bless my mom. Happy Mother’s Day. 5/12/2013 Love, Lac Po School, school I love school!
