February 18: Rochester Childfirst Network recently received a $185,000
grant from the federal Office of Refugee Resettlement, in partnership
with Rochester Rehabilitation and the Community Place of Greater
Rochester. A new federally funded program helps individuals to open
small businesses as family child care providers.

Lollypop Farm, the Humane
Society of Greater Rochester
March 1: The Tails of Hope Telethon 2014 to benefit Lollypop Farm,
the Humane Society of Greater Rochester, was broadcast live on
13WHAM, Rochester’s CW and 13wham.com from Eastview Mall. It
raised $264,185, which will help Lollypop Farm care for as many as
10,000 homeless animals this year.
