The 10th annual LeCompte/Kalaway Trail Owners Cup, a round-robin with three teams, and a Battle of the
Sexes match took place on Saturday, Sept. 13, in beautiful Barrington Hills. Spectators and sponsors enjoyed
the excitement of watching five polo teams compete in the two matches. Barrington Hills Polo Club is the
largest polo organization in the Midwest, and the only one with a polo school.
“This is Chicagoland’s largest, best-attended polo event of the year,” says Patty Meroni of Barrington Hills,
event chairwoman. “This year, we had teams sponsored by Trump Hotel Chicago, Lake Forest Sports Cars,
Medieval Times, and Barrington Hills families the Elders and Harringtons,” she said. The winning team for
Battle of the Sexes was the Elder family’s team of the Ladies. Lake Forest Maserati's team won the LeCompte/
Kalaway Trail Owners Cup match.
