Ticket Sales Managers from every Cub Pack and Scout Troop in the
Ticket Sales Managers from every Cub Pack and Scout Troop in the County are urged to
be at Ticket Sales Rallies to pick up their Unit's kit of tickets, flyers, and prize materials.
Rhodes Blish, Council Ticket Sales Chairman, has planned an incentive program that will
net the unit 30115 in cash on every $ 2 -00 ticket sold. "This year prizes are super and tickets
should sell like 'hot cakes,' " according to Mr. Blish. ""I'm sure our Scouts will not have
any trouble selling the public on coming to see the many exciting activities and events the
Committee has planned. In addition to the thousands of Cubs, Scouts and Explorers
participating in activities, there will be a hot air balloon ascent, several famous sports
personalities, a nationally fkndus sky diving team, a band, and more. This will be very
expensive to put on, and we need every unit out selling tickets to help defray the cost."
Ticket sales kick-offs are as follows:

DISTRJCT ANNUAL MEETING - APRIL 9th
The Stamford and Sasqua Districts will hold a joint annual
meeting on Wednesday, April 9th, at the Darien Scout House.
Scouting Coordinators are invited to this vital meeting, that will
begin at 8:00 P.M.
A nominating committee report, under the co-chairmanship of
Bob Newman and Bob Armstrong will be presented. The slate
of officers for the new Stamford, Norwalk, Darien, Wilton, New
Canaan District will be voted on. The new officers will take
office during June.
Spring is justaround the corner, Blue and Gold
Pinewood Derbys, Troop Courts of onor will be events of the
past. Units will be working on their Expo '80 displays, and
leaders will be awaiting a long deserved rest! Units will be
gearing down for the summer months. Sound familiar?'
Have you given any thought to the Fall of 1980? What shape
is your unit in leadership wise?
Here's a suggestion that has proven successful in the past.
CRUITINC STEPS TO SUCCESS
1. Check Roster of leaders. Who is going to continue? Determine leadership needs for Fall, 1980.
2. Plan recruiting meeting for all new adults and boys in early
May. We can help fill in those leadership gaps.
3. Secure date of recruiting meeting. Concentration for Cub
Packs will be 2nd graders, for Scout Troops - Webelos in
existing units and 5th graders,
4. Notify your Unit Commissioner or Scout Service Center of
the date and they will help with school flyers, and recruiting
specialists to help.
5. Cub training courses will be held in late May and early June
to train new leaders. Scout Leaders' training will also be
available.
A District Program Launch Meeting will be held in August to
introduce the entire program for the coming year. New leadership in place, new dens and patrols created, will have program
ivnning in September, 1980, and not floundering for assistance.
Try it!!! You'll see the difference.
EXPO '80 KICKOFF - APRIL 24th
On Thursday, April 24th, the Sasqua District will hold a
Ticket Rally for the Annual Scout Show, 8:00 PM, at the Scout
Service Center. All Unit Ticket Sales Managers are urged to
attend the brief presentation.
