Cutting Instructions
Please note: all strips are cut across the width of fabric
(WOF) from selvage to selvage edge unless otherwise noted.
From the Blocks - Taupe/Blocks - Cream (A), cut:
• Fussy cut (15) 5 ½” squares, each centered on a panel square.
From the Character Toss - Taupe/Character Toss - Cream
(B), cut:
• (3) 5 ½” x width of fabric (WOF) strips. Sub-cut into (15)
5 ½” squares.
From the Character Toss - Blue/Character Toss - Green
(C), cut:
• (7) 3 ½” x WOF strips. Sew strips together, end to end with a diagonal seam, and cut (2) 3 ½” x 60 ½” strips and
(2) 3 ½” x 56 ½” strips.
From Fabrics D through L (Boy) and Fabrics D through
M (Girl), cut:
• (60) 1 ¾” x 5 ½” strips and (60) 1 ¾” x 8” strips for the inner borders from the assorted ½ yard cuts. You will need (30) matching sets to ensure that the inner border strips match each other on each block.
• (60) 1 ¾” x 8” strips and (60) 1 ¾” x 10 ½” strips for the outer borders from the assorted ½ yard cuts. You will need (30) matching sets to ensure that the outer border strips match each other on each block.
From the Paper Planes - Blue/Tiny Flowers - Pink w/
Cream (K), cut:
• (7) 2 ½” x WOF strips for the binding.
From the Character Toss - Blue/Character Toss - Green
(Backing), cut:
• (2) 64” x WOF strips for the backing. Sew the strips together and trim to make the 64” x 74” back.

Sewing Instructions
1. Sew (1) 1 ¾” x 5 ½” inner border strip to each side of
(1) 5 ½” Fabric A square. Sew (1) 1 ¾” x 8” inner border
strip to the top and bottom of the Fabric A square to make
one A-block center.
Quilt Top Assembly
Refer to the Quilt Photo while assembling.
2. Sew (1) 1 ¾” x 8” outer border strip to each side of the
A-block center. Sew (1) 1 ¾” x 10 ½” outer strip to the
top and bottom of the A-block center to make one A-block.
6. Sew (3) B-blocks and (2) A-blocks together, alternating
them, to make Row 2. Repeat to make Rows 4 and 6.
3. Repeat Steps 1-2 using assorted 1 ¾” strips and the
remaining (14) 5 ½” Fabric A squares to make (15)
A-blocks total.
7. Sew the rows together in numerical order to make the
quilt top.
4. Repeat Steps 1-2 using (15) 5 ½” Fabric B squares and
assorted 1 ¾” strips to make (15) B-blocks.
5. Sew (3) A-blocks and (2) B-blocks together, alternating
them, to make Row 1. Repeat to make Rows 3 and 5.
8. Sew (1) 3 ½” x 60 ½” Fabric C strip to each side of the
quilt top. Sew (1) 3 ½” x 56 ½” Fabric C strip to the top
and to the bottom of the quilt top.
9. Layer and quilt as desired.
10. Sew the (7) 2 ½” x WOF Fabric K strips together, end
to end with 45-degree seams, to make the binding. Fold
this long strip in half lengthwise with wrong sides together
and press.
11. Bind as desired.
