This is going to sound cliché, but I didn’t choose Lackawanna; it chose me. My intention was to enroll in the police academy, but I missed the deadline. It wasn’t until I took a detour through the main building that I felt something especially welcoming about it. The next day I couldn’t get the idea of going back to school off my mind. WHO HAS BEEN HELPFUL TO YOU HERE AT LACKAWANNA? The easier question would be who hasn’t been helpful, because that list would be shorter! From the custodial staff who allowed me to stay in the computer lab to finish a paper, to the president who took the time to talk to me when I had an issue, everyone has been there to help me in some way or another.
