EQUESTRIAN EXCURSIONS
Time to cowboy up. From spectacular views of the legendary
Blackfoot River to Jones’ Pond and the endless conifer
forests, our horseback adventures offer a wide-eyed gulp of
the Montana wilderness. We’ll send you off with your seasoned
wrangler along the edge of a pristine Montana meadow, where
you’ll explore a trail forested with ancient Ponderosas as you
rise to a ridge overlooking scenic Paws Up Ranch. Whether
you’re an experienced rider or you’ve never been in the saddle

EQUESTRIAN LESSONS
For those looking to sharpen their skills or pick up a few pointers,
private equestrian lessons are available for ages eight and older,
including riding, western trail, roping and basic horsemanship.
Whether your background is in English or western and you want
to advance your horsemanship skills to the next level or you have
never been exposed to a horse before, we have a program for
you. The 34,000-square-foot arena at The Saddle Club at Paws
Up, and more than 100 miles of trails, provide incomparable
facilities and settings for lessons of all types for all ages.
LEGENDARY FLY-FISHING
Every fisherman has an image of the perfect trout stream: cold
rivers, stunning scenery, solitude, and large, eager fish. Here,
you’ll redefine your image of perfect – as you float through it
every day. You’ll cast to rising fish again and again whether you’re
wading off the banks of the Clearwater or floating the Missouri or
Blackfoot Rivers. The rivers are legendary, much like your fishing
tales to come. These perfectly untamed wilderness rivers offer
unrivaled dry-fly fishing for species such as the wild Westslope
Cutthroat Trout. So, if you’d like a chance to find fly-fishing
heaven, join us at Paws Up for the angling adventure of a lifetime.
RIVER ADVENTURES
The Resort at Paws Up offers three types of river trips for all levels
of adventure. For guests seeking a leisurely, quiet excursion, there
is the Clearwater canoe adventure which is fun for all ages. Those
wanting a bit more excitement can float down the Blackfoot River
with its class I and II rapids in a raft or inflatable kayak. For the
ultimate thrill seekers, we offer a full-day whitewater adventure on
Alberton Gorge, class III+ rapids. Of course, you can always settle for a
refreshing dip in the Blackfoot River at our designated swimming hole.
WORKING RANCH ACTIVITIES
Paws Up is situated on a sprawling, 37,000-acre working cattle
ranch. Join us for authentic western ranch activities like a cattle
drive. Novice and advanced riders alike will team up with seasoned
ranch hands in driving a herd of cattle for the experience of
a lifetime. You’ll saddle up your horse and set out to gather
the cattleand trail them to the working corrals, sort them, then
trail them back to their home pasture. It’s an unforgettable
adventure that will help you discover your inner wrangler.
SPORTING CLAYS
Sporting Clays is a challenging, fun and competitive clay target
game that simulates actual field hunting. Shoot on specially
designed courses that resemble real-life field conditions –
the lure of the sport lies in its realism. Our sporting clays
installation features a 12-station course that throws a
diversity of aerial target presentations. The clays cross, climb,
zip in, fly out, or streak high overhead at speeds and angles
accurately simulating the flight patterns of game birds.

ATV TOURS
There’s no better way to see a 60-square mile ranch than on your
very own quick and agile ATV.
You’ll scale mountains like
they’re molehills, slice through streams, power through brush,
or even cruise to a ghost town. The backdrop is gorgeous,
the pace is moderate, and the exhilaration is unforgettable.
Paws Up offers a variety of ATV adventures for you to
choose from. Warning: ATV riding can be habit forming. If
you try one trip, you’ll undoubtedly sign up for the others.
LAKE ACTIVITIES
One of a half dozen lakes in the Clearwater Valley known as
the “Chain of Lakes,” Seeley Lake is a 1,025-acre aquatic
paradise for all types of lake activities. Your inner child
will come blasting out as you zip around on your twopassenger personal watercraft. Go for a joy ride in our
19-foot powerboat. Or strap on your skis and show the local
Seeley citizens a rooster tail or two. There’s also tubing,
wakeboarding, a water trampoline, paddle boats and sea kayaks.
HOT AIR BALLOONING
Imagine floating over the historic Lewis & Clark Trail, watching
eagles soar below you and the big, Montana sky unfold above.
Introducing hot air ballooning Paws Up-style. At times, you’ll
flow smoothly over the rolling terrain like a silent roller-coaster
— inhaling the intoxicating scent of millions of Ponderosa
Pines. At other times, you will find yourself brushing the
soft grey bottom of a wandering cloud or two. Few visions
are as captivating as a balloon’s sun-cast shadow gliding
effortlessly along the sprawling Montana landscape. Hot air
ballooning is an experience. Montana hot air ballooning in
the majestic Blackfoot Valley is the experience of a lifetime.
RAPPELLING
Imagine descending a sheer, 167-foot-rock face as the sun begins
to drop in the Western sky. You’ll begin atop the famed Lookout
Rock, where Meriwether Lewis once stood. After pausing for a
moment to admire the stunning views of the expansive 37,000acre ranch, including the majestic Blackfoot River below, your
real adventure begins as you lower yourself by rope down the sheer
rock face. Of course, we have all the gear necessary to make your
descent as safe and secure as it is thrilling, with expert Paws Up
guides attending to your every need. Whether you’re a climbing
expert or a newbie, this adventure is one you’ll never forget.
KIDS ACTIVITIES
Paws Up features a pristine environment most kids only see
on TV. Supervised, age-appropriate activities include everything
from horseback riding, mountain biking,
hiking and fishing to nature education,
authentic ranch adventures and wildlife
appreciation. The Paws Up “Kids Corps
of Discovery” programs, held seven
days a week, include organized, themed
activities, crafts and daily feedings of the
baby animals at the Cow Pokes’ Corral.
WINTER ADVENTURES
Winter in Greenough, Montana is a time for any sport that makes
use of a land blanketed by white. The Resort at Paws Up offers
over a hundred miles of lightly traveled wilderness trails for a
diversity of unique Montana winter excursions. For those who
yearn to explore the great outdoors of Big Sky Country, we feature
unforgettable adventures like dog sledding, cross-country skiing,
snowmobiling, tubing, private indoor equestrian lessons and even
ice skating - all in a winter wonderland full of peace and magic.
If given some time off, Jack Frost would certainly choose to spend
his holidays relaxing here after weeks of winterizing the world.
SPA AND WELLNESS
Discretely nestled on the edge of an expansive meadow, in the
waving shade of soaring pines – sits Spa Town ® at Paws Up.
This colony of pristine white tents is stitched together by a
wooden boardwalk and is in earshot to a charming babbling
brook. The welcome tents feature full baths and showers, while
individual treatment tents are fashioned with a lovely sink, a heated
massage table, and a view of the surrounding mountains. Paws
Up’s extensive menu of indulgent spa treatments features
everything from a Montana Gold Rush Massage – featuring gold
flake oil – to a Huckleberry Body Scrub. Kids can relax too with
a yummy Chocolate, Cotton Candy or Bubble Gum Massage.
Yoga and pilates lessons are also readily available. Spa Town
gives new meaning to the term “getting lost” in the woods.
