mer of Orangeburg, as it marks 17
ears, ten months and 23 days of serv-

"When I came to congress," Mr
Fulmer recalled. " 104 new members

tural lines, he has a long line of farm
bills to his credit.
Rumors around the Capitol are that
Representative Marvin Jones (Demo
crat) of Texas, chairman of the com mittee on agriculture, will some time
during the session receive an appoint
ment as federal district judge. ShouH
this occur, Mr. Fulmer would become
chairman of the committee. Ttii^
would give South Carolina two chair
men of the two farm committeeSmith in the senate and Fulmer in th<house.
