PORT OF SANTOS Statistics / December 2011 Moving accumulated in 2011 totaled up 97,170,308 tons, a record for the period. Exports amounted 62,876,977 tons, while imports amounted 34.293.331 tons. A total of 5,874 ships docked in the Port of Santos in 2011. Given the nature of cargo, dry bulk accounted for the most significant portion of total, 45,031,773 tons (46.3%), followed by general cargo, 36,041,48 tons (37.1%) and liquid bulk 16,096,887 tons (16,57%). Among the main cargoes stood out sugar (14,329,849 tons), soybean grain (9,766,826 tons), corn (4,543,259 tons), coal (3,899,794 tons) and fertilizer (3,704,195 tons) About 1,915,292 containers (2,985,922 TEU) passed through the Port of Santos in 2011, increasing 8.7% over 2010.
