Week 7 - Morrisville
CAMP 2016:
WEEK 7
July 25– July 29
Camp Cedar Fork 2016 Newsletter
Dear Parents and Families,
Here we are in week 7!! Last week was a force to be reckoned with!
Campers tested their Jedi skills and got to make Jedi slime! They played
games such as pin the saber on Yoda and light saber duels. They also
played real life hungry hippos and ran in an obstacle course. This week
we will be having a summer fiesta on Wednesday! We will be having a
piñata, making quesadillas, sombrero dance, and many other fiesta
games. going through Jedi Training and putting their jedi skills to the test.
Remember to encourage your child to dress up on Wacky Wednesday’s
for a chance to win a prize from the treasure chest and a picture in next
week’s newsletter.
As a reminder, campers will be swim tested at the beginning of each week
and must pass the swim test in order to swim in the deep end. This is applicable to new campers for each week. The swim test consists of swimming across the length of the pool successfully and treading water for 30
seconds. This week, Town of Morrisville staff and consultants are undergoing a strategic planning process to develop an Active Kids plan to identify strategies to promote activing living and physical activity for kids in the
community. The process will look to identify barriers and areas for improvement, as well as increasing the use and accessibility of bike, pedestrian and park infrastructure by kids. They will be doing some brief activities with children at the camp to collect input from kids about where and
how they like to play and be active.
Wiggle Worm Notes
Please dress your child in their Wiggle Worm T-Shirt for our field trip days. On pool
days, please dress your child in their swim suit and cover-up. They will not change out
of their swim suit once pool time is over. Session 7 is Ocean Week!
