The meeting was called to order at 7:32 pm. Officers present were Dick Thompson, president; Gary Canady, 1st vice president; and Dick Fritz, secretary. 34 member clubs and one associate member were represented. Guest Speakers: Dave & Diedra Haska described plans for the 18th Annual Rocky Mountain Auto Show (Greybeard Promotions) to be held at the Colorado Convention Center in Denver November 28-30. CCCC will have a booth with a representative sampling of vehicles owned by club members. There are two categories of entrants: $25 for a vehicle not being judged and $50 if being judged. Best of Show will receive $500. Club exhibits are encouraged. For entry details, phone 303-987-1377 or go on line: Cremedelachrome.com. CCCC will need volunteers to staff the council exhibit. Leo Boyle noted that most legislators are involved with pre election campaigning at this time. CCCC is nonpolitical but can recognize legislators, regardless of party, who have helped with car hobbyist issues that have come up. Two such individuals are Max Tyler and Dianne Primavera. Rep. Tyler has been chairman of the House Transportation Committee and influential in supporting CCCC concerns. Campaign contributions are important to keep legislators of either party aware of us and club members are urged to make contributions, identifying with the CCCC. For Rep. Tyler’s campaign, checks can be made out to “Friends of Max Tyler” and mailed to Leo Boyle at 1223 Race St., #801, Denver CO 80206. Tyler’s campaign office is 755 Vista Lane, Lakewood CO 80214. Campaigns of others who have worked with Leo include: Dianne Primavera for HD 33, PO Box 840, Broomfield CO 80038: Committee to Elect Pete Lee, 9544 Pinebrook Way, Colo.Spgs CO 80920; Chris Holbert for Senate, 10138 Severn Lane, Parker CO 80134. Minutes of the September 3rd meeting were approved as published. Treasurer’s Report: As of September 30th: Operating Account: Govt.Relations Account; Swap Meet Account: Cruise Account: Total, all accounts: $ 1565.22 $-6087.15 $12783.00 $21017.17 $29198.24 Bylaws revision and amendments: Discussion was reopened regarding the proposed bylaw changes. Bill Miller provided historical background how the current wording was put into the bylaws. He also noted one incorrect word that was inadvertently put into the information sent out with last month’s minutes and that has been corrected. There will be separate votes on four items. The bylaws specify that absentee ballots can be used and these will be sent out to all club representatives by email or USPS. These are to be mailed back to the CCCC secretary not later than two days before the next meeting (Nov.5), but we urge representatives to send them in not later than November 1st. 2015 “First Responders Show”: CCCC has an opportunity to work with the Denver Police and Denver Firefighters Museums on their First Responders Tribute event in September 2015. Location will probably be Mile High Stadium on a Saturday as close to September 11th as possible. In addition to the car show to accompany the display of emergency vehicles, we hope to add an abbreviated Colfax Cruise and a swap meet. Plans are just getting underway. Ken Lawson, formerly with Front Range Airport, is one of the organizers. Nominations for 2015 CCCC officers: Nominations for officers (president, first and second vice presidents, secretary, and treasurer) were opened. Gary Canady will not run again. The other current officers are willing to continue, but volunteers are urged to bring in new ideas. Candidates do not have to be the representative of a club. Chrome Plating Shops: Since Denver Bumper has closed, car hobbyists need to find other shops that still do chrome plating. The following options were presented: • Roberts Tires & Wheels, Robert Morales owner, 8 Federal in Denver 303-596-4360. Morales can transport large items like bumpers to his uncle’s shop in California. Over 30 years experience. • Smittys Chrome Plating, Oshkosh Nebraska, 308-772-4301. Quality Plating, Lowell Beaman owner, 199 W.9th Ave., Yuma CO, 970-848-2065. Cannot do large bumpers. Next Meeting: Wednesday, November 5, 7:30 pm, at the Forney Transportation Museum, 4303 Brighton Blvd., Denver. Nominations for CCCC officers for 2015 will be open, followed by election of officers. Meeting was adjourned at 9:06 pm.
