WHAT IS MOCK TRIAL?
The NMI High School Mock Trial
Competition, which will be held at the
Guma’ Hustisia, provides students with an
introduction to the justice system and its
procedures. Students have the opportunity
to act as attorneys and witnesses as the
prosecution and defense in a fictitious case
before justices, judges, practicing attorneys,
and judicial law clerks.
Each team must include at least seven
students (maximum of ten), a teachercoach, and an attorney-coach. Only one
team per school is permitted.
WHY PARTICIPATE?
Participants will leave the competition
with a more comprehensive understanding
of the legal system, a challenging and
memorable experience, an improvement in
analytical skills, and an increased ability to
make legal arguments.
