It is a memoir of the year she spent running her family’s apple orchard on Argilla Road during the Great Depression. The library will be hosting book discussions later this spring, as well as other events and programs on the many themes of the book, including agriculture, beekeeping , jazz and local history. Copies are available at the library and at the Council, or can be reserved by visiting Rowley.mvlc.org. This program is supported with federal funds provided by the Institute of Museum and Library Services and administered by the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners. Special thanks To Spud’s, who provided Thanksgiving meals to Rowley homebound seniors and thanks to those who gave up holiday time to deliver those meals. We are grateful to all the folks who helped with the Christmas Dinner on Christmas day by cooking, donating food, serving, or delivering. You all came together to provide a wonderful meal for Rowley seniors. A special “Thank-You” to the entire Picanso family including grandchildren, who took time during their busy Christmas to deliver meals and flowers all over Rowley. Thank-you to Bill Freitag and family, of Country Gardens, for the generous donation of flowers which accompanied each meal delivered. They brought such joy! It is said that there is more joy in giving than in receiving, and for those who gave , be it time, effort, cooking, serving, or delivering, I’m sure your holidays were just a bit brighter and joyful, thanks to your big heart! Thank you all for a holiday well done!! 8 FEBRUARY BIRTHDAYS 2014 1 2 Richard MacDonald James Mazzone Wayne Downs Harry Lister Michael Jourden James Norcross Robert Bissett Cheryl Moran Robert Kroon Marilyn Hayes Jane Pawlowski Sandra Keller Aline Jodz William Sniegoski Brenda Saunders Ronald Savage Aurore Lockhart John Melcher Henrietta Roberts Eileen Caram Julie Jillett Jeanne O’Connell 10 Pauline Latawiec Fay Ryan John Qualters 3 4 Mary Wood David Beckingham Vincent Donofrio Kathryn Olmsted Henry Sacco Barbara Boccelli Robert Lovett Susan Lazaris Joel Fleit 6 George Ernstrom 23 Frank Lotito Richard Caram 24 Julia Hanrahan Richard Hydren 25 Leonard Wescott 17 Walter Bockus Ed Pacheco Jean Squire Angela Boss Robert Dawson Susan Belle Adele Martino 26 Marjorie Bowen 18 William Wood Robert Gillis James Wedge Albert Correia Nancy HerbisonEvans Constance Moulaison Nancy Anderson Alice Reed Marcella Boyd Raymond Muscatell 27 Alan Svenson Robert Russell Bruce Bromby Roland Kneeland 28 Joyce Todd 11 Frederick Judd 19 Geraldine Elliott Marilyn Gwinn Alan Stringer John Kneeland Harold Newhall 8 11 Susan Winn Alfred Leone 5 7 9 16 Helen Peabody Tseh-Jen Hsieh 12 Barbara Goodwin Joyce Thomson Muriel Prime Francis Leonard 13 Barry Moore Sheryl Paquin 14 Jeanne Griffin Louis Moisan Warren Appell Elaine Pagliarulo Larry Constantine Lawrence White Mary Hardy James Cloutman Kenneth Sanford Robert Stearns Jeannine Pelletier Marie Grover Marcia Haley 15 Margaret Hanlon 20 Robert Todd Ronald Thistlewood 21 Richard Hallowell 22 George Bonneau Janet Gillis Henry Wilson Ellen Monahan Lawrence Cassenti Bruce Tompkins Joseph Micciche Scott Ewell Katherine Terpos 29 Karen Dole FEBRUARY 2014 If your Birthday is this month, check the date of your driver’s license, It might be time for renewal.
