Classification of areas according to the
94/9/EC directive concerning ATEX
Equipment is aimed at protecting
equipment and areas
where liquids, gases and/or explosive dust
are to be found. That is the way to reduce
risks and increase protection in a profitable
and reasonable way.
The most common environments where
Ex ATEX enclosures are required are the
following: places with flammable vapors
and gases, areas where hazardous liquids
are transferred, installations for painting
cabins, warehouses with solvent substances,
and also those places with the possible
presence of combustible dust such as grain
stores, mills, etc.
Thus, the objective is to ensure that devices
and equipment manufactured under these
rules meet the safety requirements by
eliminating ignition sources and minimizing
the consequences of possible explosions.

ISmATEX 2 issued by the Notified
Organism INERIS that accredits the
selection and assembly of ATEX electrical
appliances and the review and inspection

This combination by Delvalle is manufactured to the customers
own specifications to be used in areas with flammable gases and
powders. It´s placing and atmosphere application determine the
type of protection for increased security or wrap around security.
The wrap around is available in stainless steel AISI304L and
AISI316L. The cabinet itself can be chosen (according to size)
from our geoex, luxorex and tribex series. Cabinets with doors or
screwdown lids.
Cabinets with doors or screwdown lids visualising elements
for alarm and control as well as E/S remotes are manufactured
following the clients requirements.

Delvalle recommends pressurization of enclosures which
cannot be protected by any other means, either because they
are too large (which prevents them from being flameproof)
or because they require too high a power to benefit from the
enclosure’s intrinsic safety.
This new range of enclosures more than meets the strictest
tests that we could put them to: impact, over-pressure,
corrosion, thermic impact, temperature rises, resistance to UV
light, resistance to cold, heat and humidity.
We manufacture this pressurized enclosures to American
standards.

drilling operations. Delvalle hazardous location
air conditioners are specifically designed
and factory built to insure product integrity,
reliability, and safety.
Our entire line of ATEX and IECEx air
conditioners are third party certified by UL/
DEMKO for ATEX/IECEx Zone 1 & 2. These
units are designed specifically for hazardous
environments for purged and non-purged
enclosure systems and housed in a 316 stainless
steel cabinet. Available in 1200W- 4,000 BTUH
to 3000w 10,000 BTUH capacity.
Typically, other manufacturers of Atex & IECEX
enclosure cooling systems send their standard
air conditioners to be converted for hazardous
location applications. However, the companies
that do the conversion may have to make
changes that can affect the efficiency of the
original unit. Often, components are substituted
or added that may have an effect on the
cooling capacity or useful life of the original

The EJB enclosures are made to be installed
in areas classified Zone 1, 2, 21 and 22, where
there is danger of explosion and/or fire or the
presence of combustible dusts.
They are manufactured with a specific aluminum
alloy, and they stand out because of their
mechanical surface finish characteristics.
Aplication & sectors
The EJB series is made for use in industries like
offshore, oil & gas, the chemical & petrochemical
sectors and any hazardous areas in general.
Some uses are: placing push-buttons and
connecting bars, switchboards and signalling,
lighting switchboards and voltage arresters, fuses,
barriers, transformers, etc…

offer a Low Bay lighting fixture that could replace
incandescent equivalents with lower costs. They are
suitable for the illumination of areas in which it’s
necessary to limit the obstruction such as tunnels,
passages, corridors, stairways and command and
control cabins. They can also be used to illuminate and
monitor hazardous materials contained inside tanks
and cisterns thanks to a bracket for coupling with
the porthole flange. The model with the side entry

section that provides a better “Cx” coefficient with
less resistance to the wind and less accumulation of

The microprocessor controlled, work and
emergency lamp, Delvalle LintEx-15 and
LintEx-16, is made of high quality impact
resistant plastics and has been tested for
conformity with the directive 94/9/EC,
EN 50020 and EN 61241-11 as well as
relevant EMC rules; it is also approved for
use in motor vehicles. The combination
of a Power LED and a hightech-lens is
producing a powerful beam-focus with a
long distance range.

The international standards for safety in industrial environments
establish the mandatory installation of suitable audible warning
device that can be activated in case of alarm, emergency or
danger for the safety of workers which operate at the modern
manufacturing processes. The explosion-proof loudspeakers
LOUDEx25B series have been designed for use in potentially
explosive atmospheres in presence of explosive gases and dusts.
They have a high degree of protection (IP66) to withstand the
harsh off-shore and on-shore plants environmental conditions.
They are suiteable for conection to standard amplification
system with output 100V, to alarm systems and for public
address.
The chamber of acoustic compression is separated from the
outer atmosphere through a special filter of sintering. They are
equipped with a transformer offering the possibility to adapt
and select the sound level according to the real needs of the
installation point.

system is needed and where the atmosphere is potentially
explosive. Sirens are multi-functional. The five different types of
