Introduction to Asiana Club
Asiana Club is the frequent flyer program of Asiana Airlines, and
is operated based on Asiana Club Miles. Asiana Club Members
can earn miles every time they fly with Asiana Airlines or an
Asiana Airlines partner, and may get Flight Award and other
benefits using the miles they have earned. By accumulating
enough miles, members can earn Elite status and get even
more benefits.

Hansarang Membership
Hansarang Membership is a special program for Asiana Club members who are welfare card holders. After registering, Hansarang
Members automatically receive discounts on domestic fares.
Magic Miles
This is the mileage program for children under 12. Children under
12 earn 75% of the miles earned by adults. As well, children boarding domestic flights with flight awards (including upgrade awards)
between the ages of 2 and 12 and children boarding international
flights with flight awards (including upgrade awards) between the
ages of 2 and 11 will redeem 75% of the miles for adults.

Asiana Airlines and Star Alliance flights.

1.Elite membership status is applicable based on the miles or the
number of boardings for every 24 months from the base date.
2.If a member has met the criteria for an upgrade in membership
status before 24 months expire, the early upgrades are made. A
member may have Elite membership status for the term of early
upgrades and an additional 24 months if the qualification for
early upgrade is met.
3.If the membership status expires, a new membership status is
applied based on the miles or the number of boardings for the
previous 24 months, and the miles or the number of boardings
for the term of early upgrades shall not be counted.

Mileage Discount Coupons
•Mileage Discount Coupons are applicable to Flight Award and
Upgrade Award on Asiana Airlines flights only, and the coupons
are valid for one year from the date of issuance (non-transferable)
•You can use the service when you use your own miles or combine
these with your family miles to issue bonus tickets through your
account.
•Available by visiting an Asiana Airlines branch
•Mileage coupon provided when a member upgrades their status
to Gold, Diamond or Diamond Plus will be issued and terminate
on November 30, 2016 (date of upgrade)

Lounge Tickets (for Gold Members)
1.If a member uses Asiana Airlines flights (flights directly operated
by Asiana Airlines excluding joint service flights), the member
may use Asiana Airlines Lounges in Korea, which are directly
operated by Asiana Airlines. The tickets are valid for a year from
the date of issuance.
2.Coupons must be used by the member, with one accompanied
guest who use the flights directly operated by Asiana Airlines
may use lounges, but an additional coupon will be used.
Lounges and Check-in Counters for Diamond Plus
Members
•Diamond Plus Members may use lounges and check-in counters of
a higher class than the tickets presented.
-Passengers with Economy Class tickets may use business lounges and check-in counters
-Passengers with Business Class tickets may use the highest
class check-in counter of Asiana Airlines and the highest class
lounger in Incheon International Airport.
•Diamond Plus Members who have earned 500,000 miles or 500

Earning Miles
A member may earn miles by using Asiana Airlines or Star Alliance
Partners, and using credit cards, hotels and car rental services that
are partnered with Asiana Airlines.
A member may also earn miles by using major online shopping
malls in Korea through the Shop & Miles Program.
※Miles accrue free of charge, and the miles shall not be valuated before use
as the standards for redeeming miles may change. The value of the miles is
decided at the point of redeeming miles for Flight Award or Upgrade Award.
Expiry by Membership Status
Expiry of miles is decided according to the membership status as
of the boarding date or mileage accrual date. Miles that are not
redeemed before expiry automatically become extinct.

when a member uses Asiana Airlines flights, and the miles are
not counted for selection of membership status. (Not available
when a member uses joint services.)

How to Earn Miles
Automatic Accrual
•Miles are automatically accrued upon submission of membership number at the time of ticket purchase or reservation, or
upon presentation of digital membership card at the time of
check-in.
•Miles accumulated directly through Asiana Airlines are credited
to member accounts within one full day of the completion of the
flight; miles accumulated through partners of Asiana Airlines are
credited to member accounts within eight days of the boarding
date.
※Mileage accrued after check-in cannot be used until boarding has been
completed and the mileage has been credited to the member account.
※The period for earning missing miles from Air China (CA) changed from 6
months to 12 months from the date of boarding as of August 20, 2014.

Redemption Procedures
A member may use his or her accumulated miles to fly with Asiana
Airlines and Star Alliance Partners, and to use the various partnership services of Asiana Airlines, including theaters, hotels, resorts
and online duty-free shops.
※Mileage deduction standards may change at any time, so the previous Mileage
deduction standards may be different from the standards at point of mileage
accumulation or membership program enrollment.
Flight Award is available when there are vacancies at the point of
flight departure, but Asiana Airlines allocates seats in advance to
enable members to fix their schedules more easily. Flight Award
is allocated separately from seats for regular tickets, and the
number of seats allocated is decided based on an analysis of the
boarding records, seasons, days and flights. Accordingly, there may
be vacancies for regular tickets with no vacancy for Flight Award.
Please understand that vacancies expected to be used as seats for
regular tickets shall not be allocated as seats for Flight Award.

1.Infants are subject to 10% of the mileage redemption applied to

2.For a child using a domestic flight between the ages of 2 and 12

How to Use
Ticket Time Limit
Ticket Time Limit is set automatically at the point of reservation,
and the reservation will be cancelled if Flight Award is not issued
within the Ticket Time Limit.
Stop Over
One stop over is allowed per one-way trip for all routes.
Change of Itinerary
Limited to applications made within the valid period of tickets for
the route with the same mileage redemption standards applied
(same zone, season and class).
•It is not permitted to board flights for reversed routes
Illustration 1: Round-trip route Incheon-Narita-Incheon. ☞ After
using the ticket for the Incheon-Narita leg, the remaining ticket
cannot be used for another Incheon-Narita leg.
Illustration 2: One-way trip route Incheon-Narita. ☞ The ticket
cannot be used for leg Narita-Incheon. A passenger shall be reissued with a ticket for the Narita-Incheon route or refunded for
the ticket and issued with a new ticket.
•When the remaining route of an open-jaw route (stopover in
Korea) is changed after using the first route of the itinerary,
refunds are made and then miles are redeemed again. (refund
charges applied and redemption standards for the open-jaw
routes not applied)
Taxes and FEES
Members who use a flight award shall pay taxes, surcharges and
fees, including fuel surcharges, domestic and foreign airport facility
fees and tourism promotion funds when the flight award is issued.

e.g. Mileages for Star Alliance passengers who use Asiana Airline’s flight

Asiana Club Members may earn Asiana Club Miles when using Star
Alliance Member Airlines and other Partners.
1.Limits of route and region: Limits of routes and regions may be
applied to Asiana Club Miles accrual.
2.If an Asiana Club Member has enrolled to a mileage program with
another airline, he or she must decide with which airline the miles
will accrue. If a member earns Asiana Club Miles, the member may
not earn miles with another airline account for the same route. If a
member earns miles with other airlines, the member may not earn
Asiana Club Miles for the same route. Once earned, the miles shall
not be transferred to miles of other airlines.
3.Miles will be earned when our Asiana Club member boards on
the codeshare flights. It will be calculated under the purchase of
fare and booking class. The miles are earned according to the
mileage policy of the airline, and the details are as follows:
•Miles may be earned with Asiana Club if you use a codeshare flight
between Asiana Airlines and Star Alliance partners. If the airline is a
Star Alliance partner, miles are earned according to the flight name
and the mileage policy of the airline operating the flight.

Reservations
•Reservations and ticket issuances shall be completed at least 3
days before the first flight.
•Members may make reservations at a Reservation Center or the
website. (Please note that the services provided at the website
may be restricted.)
•If double reservations including a reservation for Flight Award
and a reservation for a regular ticket have been made, reservations for Flight Award may be cancelled by the airline.
e.g. If a member has made a reservation for Flight Award and a reservation for
another class of an Air Canada flight with the same route and the same date of
boarding, the Flight Award is cancelled.
•Reservations for Flight Award are open from about 330 to 354
days before the date of departure, according to the reservation
policy of each airline.
Ticket issue
•Asiana Club members can issue tickets at available city branches
of Asiana Airlines.
•Tickets will be issued only if the reservations have been confirmed.

•Reservations and ticket issuances must be complete by three
days before first departure
•The Ticket Time Limits of individual airlines may vary.

Flight Award
Terms of Use
1. Qualifications
Round-trip tickets or one-way tickets are available, and up to
eight-section itineraries are available with the Star Alliance Flight
Awards. (If using domestic routes in Japan using ANA flights only,
up to four sections are available.)
2.Stop Over
• Up to seven stopovers of over 24 hours are allowed.
•For open jaw (Non-flight distance), which means the city of
arrival is different from the connected city of departure, the
non-flight route shall be shorter than the previous route.
•If the non-flight route is longer than the previous route, the
ticket shall be issued separately.
※What is MPM (Maximum Permitted Mileages)?
M.P.M. is the longest distance allowed between the place of departure and
the destination defined by IATA.
4.Expiration and Refund
•The Flight Award Ticket is valid for one year from the issuing
date and tickets cannot be extened after a year.
•Miles for the unused section can be returned.
If the ticket has been used in the order, the refund of the
unused section is allowed. If the itinerary consisting of
flights of Asiana Airlines is used only and the unused section is returned, miles can be recalculated and additionally
redeemed in accordance with Asiana Airlines’ ticket issuance
policy.
•If returned within a year from the date of ticket issuance, a
charge of 3,000 miles or USD 30 per passenger is applied.
If returned after a year from the date of ticket issuance, a
charge of 10,000 miles or USD 100 per passenger is applied.
5.Terms of Upgrade Award Limits
•Upgrade Award Limits may vary according to the airline, and
the terms may change without prior notice.
6.Mileage Deduction Standards for Children
•Infants (under the age of 2) and children are subject to the
same mileage redemption as adults.
•An infant who does not hold a seat may travel with charged
tickets for infants (10% of the regular rate for adults).

8. Change of Itinerary
•An itinerary change before boarding of the first route is

9. Remarks
•When making a reservation for a Star Alliance Flight Award, an

cancelled without prior notice. Please check by contacting your
airline or the reservation center of Asiana Airlines before boarding.
•Items not mentioned here shall be based on the Flight Award
policy of Asiana Airlines.
Flight Award for Star Alliance World Journey
1.Star Alliance World Journey refers to a journey made in one
direction to cross the Pacific Ocean and the Atlantic Ocean by
flight and arrive in the country of departure.
2.A Star Alliance World Journey shall have at least ten days
between the date of initial departure and the date of final arrival.
3.Up to seven stop overs are allowed throughout the journey, and
up to two stop overs are allowed in a country.
4.140,000 miles are redeemed when making a reservation for an
Economy Class ticket using Star Alliance Round the World Travel
if using Business Class, 230,000 miles are redeemed.
Flight Award of Other Partners
Asiana Club Members may use Flight Award with Etihad Airways,
and Qatar Airways, which are partners of Asiana Airlines.

3. Terms of Transfers
Transfers will be available up to two times in between the depture
and destination cities.
Transfers are allowed only when the MPM defined by IATA is
observed. Redemption by section is applied to itineraries consisting of domestic flights only, the Mexico-Americas routes, the
Canada-Americas routes and the New Zealand-Australia routes.
7.Restrictions
• Flight Award is not available for Code Share.
•A child under the age of 12 who is not accompanied by a
guardian may be rejected or be subject to extra charges.
•If using ANA for domestic routes in Japan only, the following
restrictions are applied.

Taxes and charges imposed
A member shall be responsible for fuel surcharges, domestic and
foreign airport fees and taxes and other charges including tourism
promotion taxes, surcharges and fees incurred when Star Alliance
Flight Awards are issued. Fuel surcharges and fees for using foreign
airport facilities may change depending on exchange rates at the
date of ticket issuance.

Applying for Star Alliance Upgrade Award
1.An application for Upgrade Award may be made after your ticket
purchase. A member can apply for Upgrade Award at the Asiana
Airlines website or the Asiana Club Service Center at least three
days before the date of departure.
Applications for Upgrade Award or standby are not accepted at
the airport on the date of departure.
2.No additional reservations, ticket issuance or submission of documents are required for Upgrade Award. Please visit the counter for
Upgrade Award and present the ID card at check-in. As Upgrade
Award can only go one class higher than the purchased seat,
upgrades from Economy Class to First Class are not allowed.
(If the airline operates only Economy Class and First Class, seat
upgrades from Economy Class to First Class are allowed.)
3.A pplications for Upgrade Award for up to four seats may be
made using one reservation number, and no partial application
for Upgrade Award of a reservation is allowed. If you intend to
partially upgrade seats of a reservation, please apply for a separation of the reservation at the point of seat upgrade by contacting the airline you are using.

Conditions of Asiana Club
4.The Asiana Club Membership is granted to an individual, and is
not transferable. Benefits for members, including mileage accrual and use of awards, are granted to members only from the date
of enrollment.
5.Asiana Club Members may use their available club miles. Family
members who have been registered under FMP may use a family member’s miles to ‘top up’ his or her own miles in order to
qualify for Flight Award.
6.Miles accumulated by Magic Miles, Silver and Gold Members are
based on the membership status of boarding of their mileage
accrual date from October 1, 2008. Those accumulated miles
will be valid until after 10 years from their travel date. Diamond
Members or higher Elite members are based on the membership status at point of their mileage accrual date from October 1,
2008. Those accumulated miles will be valid until after 12 years
from their travel date. Miles that are not used within the valid
term will expire. Miles accumulated on or before September
30, 2008 have no expiry date. The expiry date is based on the
date of boarding the Asiana Airlines or partner airline flights. The
expiry date of other miles, including partners’ miles, is based on
the date of accrual.

8.Asiana Airlines may search members’ accounts at any time, and
correct errors in members’ miles without notice. If miles have
been accumulated illegally or the terms have been violated or
abused, a member’s account may be cancelled and accumulated
miles and unused awards (Flight Award and Upgrade Award) may
be terminated.
9.Asiana Airlines may disqualify members who have violated the
terms of Asiana Club. Activities such as expressing the intention to sell or exchange Asiana Club Miles or actually selling
or exchanging Asiana Club Miles are strictly prohibited. If such
activities are discovered, all accumulated miles will be cancelled
and membership accounts suspended.
10.Asiana Airlines may not distribute e-newsletters, mileage tables
and various promotion materials to members who have not
earned any miles. Asiana Airlines may distribute promotion
information including information on special award miles to
members on a selective basis according to the information
and geographic locations of members. Promotional materials and information on changes of Asiana Club programs are
distributed to the addresses registered at the Asiana Club
database.
11.Asiana Airlines is not responsible for losses and delays of
mail. Any member whose address, e-mail or phone number
has been changed shall report the change to Asiana Airlines.
If inaccurate information has led to failure of the member to
receive a notification from Asiana Airlines, causing damages,
Asiana Airlines will not be responsible for the damages.
12.Asian Club Miles is not eligible for exchange of money, refund
or transferred to a third party. Your earned miles or member

benefits will not be inherited or transferred to your family or
to others in the event that any of your personal information
changes (i.e. in case of a death or divorce). If you decide to
cancel your membership then your account as well as all
earned miles will be automatically terminated.
13.Programs of Asiana Club Partners may be changed or suspended without prior notice according to the circumstances of
partners.
14.Benefits may differ by region. Benefits are provided based on
the nationality and the address registered by a member.
15.Asiana Airlines may delay or suspend this program at its own
discretion if uncontrollable events, including labor problems,
social chaos, government orders, natural disasters, bad weather, wars or other factors materially disturbing maintenance of
this Program occur.
16. Members are entitled to raise an objection in relation to miles
and Awards within a year from the boarding date or the date of
Awards issuance. Members are also entitled to raise an objection in relation to partner programs within a year from the date
of use of partner services.
17. Member who use a Flight Award Tickets will be charge to pay
taxes, surcharges, fees (including fuel surcharges), domestic,
foreign airport facility fees, tourism promotion funds and other
fees appicable when Flight Award Tickets are issued.
18. Flight Award and Upgrade Award are available when there are
vacancies, and the classes for Awards reservations are designated. The number and use of Flight Award may be limited.
19. Asiana Airlines may terminate the membership of a member
with no remaining miles who has not been active for ten years
or more. (Enforced September 1, 2011)
Privacy Policy of Asiana Club
1.Purpose of Collection and Use of Private Information
For the purpose of service operation and marketing, Asiana
Airlines collects private information from members with their
consent.
2.Items and Method of Private Information Collection
Asiana Airlines collects the following information through written
application or at the website, for the following purposes:
•Korean name and English name: Necessary for reservations of
flight tickets and membership card issuances
•Resident Registration Number (for written data collection only),
date of birth and identity authentication number: Necessary for

7.The terms of Asiana Club may change in the following circumstances: if related laws and regulations have been enacted,
revised or abolished; if it is impossible to remain in accordance with terms of partner airlines in relation to initiation
or change of international services with other airlines; if it is
necessary to reduce the gap with regular tickets and the mileage program due to a material change in regular ticket prices;
if there is a force majeure event that may cause a material
crisis of the aviation industry or drastic unexpected changes
in aviation demands are maintained for a considerable period
of time; if a severe national economic recession occurs; if the
national credit rates are dramatically declining; or if a change
is unavoidable due to material changes in financial conditions, given a three-month advance notice. Miles accumulated
before the date of enforcement of revised terms are subject
to the prior Awards Chart for Flight Award (including Upgrade
Award) for 12 months from the date of enforcement.

A. Asiana Airlines does not disclose the personal information of
members to any third party without the consent of the member
(except in cases where it is required by law to do so).
If a member uses the services of a partner of Asiana Airlines, the
personal information of the member may be disclosed to a minimal extent.

B
. Asiana Airlines is responsible for damages caused in relation
to the use of private information members have provided for
purposes other than collection, or for disclosure to a third party

above paragraph. If a member discloses his or her private information intentionally or out of negligence; provides false information; or has failed to report changes in private information, causing discrepancies, the above provision is not applicable.

A. Asiana Airlines shall seek the consent of a legal representative before collecting and using the private information of a child
under the age of 14, or disclosing such information to a third
party. Asiana Airlines may request the legal representative to
submit information to the minimum extent required, including
name, for the purpose of identification.
B. A member or a legal representative may demand to view, correct and cancel consent on the use of private information provided by the member or a child under the age of 14.
C. A member may withdraw from Asiana Club through the Asiana
Airlines or Asiana Club website, by contacting the Asiana Club
Service Center (82-2-2669-8180), or by requesting Asiana
Airlines to withdraw in writing. A member who intends to withdraw from Asiana Club shall submit an application for membership withdrawal with his or her signature, the agreement on the
extinction of miles and the evidence of identification.

remaining mileage has not logged in, earned or redeemed miles

not logged in, earned or redeemed miles for one year. Such
accounts can only be reactivated through an identity verification
process. Once reactivated, the members can fully enjoy the benefits of Asiana Club.
