Steve Rose, Editor March 2016 N E W S L E T T E R FROM THE BOARDROOM: We have accepted the resignation of Steve Rose who was our secretary, treasurer, newsletter editor and webmaster. Steve is moving to the mountains of Transylvania County from the county of Brevard, FL to the city of Brevard, NC. Our Spring Garden Jubilee will be held on Saturday, April 9, 2016. Holly Pardi has accepted the position of treasurer. We are still looking for additional board members and a new secretary who has computer skills in excel, word, publisher and Gmail. Join the board, help make decisions concerning our growth and play a part in our future. The BBG is grateful to these Air Force personnel and for the work they accomplished so efficiently and perfectly for continued growth of the Brevard Botanical Garden. Keep The Brevard Botanical Garden has joined the Cocoa Beach Regional Chamber of Commerce. Their first event to support and promote non-profit organizations will be Fiesta Brevard at Riverfront Park, Cocoa on Friday, April 22. Help support both organizations by buying your $10 tickets from us. The Brevard Botanical Garden Brevard (KBB) Grants When it rains it pours. We have so much going on and so many things to accomplish between now and April 30th. The Brevard Botanical Garden has been approved for two grants to help develop the Children’s Butterfly Garden, Demonstration Gardens, Central Gathering Green & Shade House. It eventually will house orchids, ferns, begonias and other shade loving plants. THE NEW PUMPHOUSE The old and the new. Our pump house renovation is complete. Here are the before and after pictures. HISTORIC DERBY STREET AND DELANNOY AVENUE A Walking Home & Garden Tour There will be 5+ historic homes, the Derby Street Chapel as well as the historic Parrish Grove Inn on our Tour. Crafts, baked goods and plants for sale and complimentary refreshments will be offered at the Community Women's Club. Tickets may be purchased at the Community Women's Club on the day of the Tour.
