Practice

We will practice at
Monona Golf Course
111 East Dean Avenue
Madison, WI 53716

Athletes will need to find
transportation to and from practice.

Practice will be held from
10am-12pm starting Aug 10th.
When school starts,
practice will run from 3:30- 5:30p.

Additional make up practices may
be scheduled on the weekends for
those interested, and athletes that
missed and want to get better.
These are not mandatory,
but encouraged.

to ride back with the team.
If arrangements are made to
transport your own child,
complete a pink form and
inform the coach prior to event.

Students are Expected to be in School the
Entire Day and Comply with School Rules.

Students are Expected to Receive No (0)
Failures or Incomplete Grades in Any
Grading Period.
Use, purchase, sale, under the influence, distribution, or
possession of alcohol, drugs and tobacco.
Attendance at event/party, without parental supervision,
where the student is in the presence of an underage
person possessing or using alcohol or illegal drugs.
Serious misconduct unbecoming of student involved in
extra curricular activities.
Disrespect to Other’s Rights or Property.
Violation of State Statutes or any Criminal Act.

Blue Slips can be obtained in the Office from Mrs. Massey.
What to Do with “Blue Slip”
“Blue Slips” must be given to the coach to confirm that
registration requirements have been met.
No Blue Slip = No Practice




Stay focused on your grade and classes.

• Be respectful in school, on the course, and outside of school.

• Just showing up to practice isn’t good enough.
Set goals for yourself and achieve them.

Have Fun
• Golf is a game you can play throughout your life. I continue to enjoy
the sport because of the positive experience I had during high school.

Communication
• Communicate any concerns or conflicts in schedule with either me or
Coach Kim as soon as possible.
• I am very understanding and will try my best to accommodate needs
that arise during the season.

with me first, either by email or phone.

 Encourage
your daughter to work on her
game outside of practice.

game and improving as an athlete.

time will be determined by the
coaching staff. The following will be
factored into the decision making process:
• Work ethic during practice.
• Scores on 9 holes and averages through the season.
• Progress during the season.
• Attending scheduled practices.
• Behavior in school and on the course.
• Other factors at the coaches discretion.
 Varsity
Letters will be awarded
to athletes who:
• Play in 4 or more varsity matches.
• Other criteria determined by coaches.
Try to play and practice as much as possible during
the summer and spring.
 If possible, work with a swing coach.
 Watch golf.
 Eat meals that are healthy.
 Balance and moderation is key:


Whole grains ( brown rice, 100% whole wheat bread, etc)
Limit refined sugars , sweets, and heavily processed food
Fruits and veggies
Healthy sources of protein ( lean meat, fish, nuts, yogurt)
Water and 100% juice, limiting soda both diet and regular and
other sugar packed drinks
Build aerobic fitness by running, biking, or other
cardio activity that increases your heart rate.
As Parents, Student-Athletes, and
Coaches, we are all in this together.
We need to work hard, remain positive,
and support the efforts of
everyone involved.
