ANZAC DAY 2015
This year on April 25th marks the 100 year
anniversary of ANZAC day.
At assembly on Monday April 27th we will hold our
own ANZAC Day service and we hope many parents
will be able to join us. The School Captains will be
joining me at a combined Geelong schools service in
Johnstone Park tomorrow, laying a floral wreath on
behalf of the Manifold Heights Primary School
community.
Reminder of upcoming pupil free day.
Please note that MONDAY MAY 4th will be a pupil
free day – no classes for students on this day.
Parents are reminded to note current local parking
restrictions, including around our Strachan Avenue
crossing and the yellow (no stopping) line zones. Any
changes proposed by City of Greater Geelong will be
communicated via future newsletters.
With the redevelopment works along Purrumbete
Avenue regarding the retaining wall, we suggest that
this area is not used for drop offs and pick ups.
New playground officially opened by our 2015
Prep students.
On Friday April 17th we opened this new playground,
with selected Preps running through the banner!
Students across all year levels are loving this
addition to Mano and we acknowledge the amazing
successful fundraisers of the past which have made
it possible.
Staff will be engaged in professional development
activities on this day, focused upon building their
capacity to meet the needs of all students in
numeracy lessons.
Parent support.
We are very, very fortunate to have such positive
parental support across our school on a daily basis.
Just yesterday we had parents helping with Seniors
Bike Education classes, weekly gardening helpers
and multiple classroom helpers all contributing.
Thank you and please note that your efforts are
appreciated and show students that many care for
them in different ways and want our school to be
great!
Traffic flow / Car parking around Mano.
The City of Greater Geelong are currently studying
this and I expect some potential changes to improve
safety in the future.
The Scholastic Book Fair is coming next week!!
Lets keep Unleashing Potential
