A Note from our Principal...
Dear Parents,
Welcome to the 2012-2013
school year. I am very excited
to have you and your children as
part of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel
School community. Each faculty
and staff member has been
working very hard to prepare for
the return of our beloved students. We have set very high
expectations and have made
plans to guarantee that every
student at OLMC will be successful this school year.
dict XVI has called us all to participate in. Lumen Gentium, one
of the constitutions of the
Church given to us at the Second
Vatican Council states that,
“parents are by word and example… the first heralds of the faith
with regard to their children.
They should encourage them in
the vocation which is proper to
each child, fostering with special
care any religious vocation” (LG
#11).
I invite you, as the primary educators of your children, to practice the virtue of the month with
your children at home. The
virtue for this month is faith. It
is a great way to prepare for the
Year of Faith which Pope Bene-
Let us continue our mission
which states that we, “establish
an environment of faith, love,
and respect which fosters spiritual growth and learning.”
I look forward to meeting you
and working together with you
to make OLMC School grow in
faith and academics.
Yours in Christ,
Sister Annalisa Burgos, S.J.S.
Principal
Year of Faith: Oct. 11, 2012—Nov. 24, 2013
"…They called the church together and reported what God had done with them and how he had opened
the door of faith..."(Acts 14:27).
In the Acts of the Apostles, we learn that God has opened the door of faith for the early Church. But did
you know that God has opened the door of faith for each one us and he invites us to step through the
threshold into a deeper relationship with him. The upcoming Year of Faith is an opportunity for every
Catholic to turn towards Jesus Christ, encounter him in the Sacraments, especially the Eucharist and rediscover the Faith and Church.
The upcoming Year of Faith is a “summons to an authentic and renewed conversion to the Lord, the One
Savior of the world” (Porta Fidei 6). In other words, the Year of Faith is an opportunity for Catholics to
experience a conversion – to turn back to Jesus and enter into a deeper relationship with him. The “door
of faith” is opened at one’s baptism, but during this year Catholics are called to open it again, walk through
it and rediscover and renew their relationship with Christ and his Church.

check the time allowed to sports and to
make education a number one priority.
Joining in many other activities after
school defeats this purpose. Parents be
advised that each coach will notify you a
week prior to each sport. We try to keep
cost of uniforms down. I will send uniform order forms out after the first practice in each sport. Please note the uniform deadline and the proper amount to
be sent. Prior to ordering, if you have
any questions feel free to call me. We
thank you in advance for your participation and support. Please refer to sports
calendar to find out when your child’s
sport will take place.

“Complete the Dream”
Our Lady of Mt. Carmel School would like to thank our parents and friends for their generosity during the
2011-2012 school year. OLMCS depends on your prayers, attendance, and financial support to further our
mission. Your support makes possible to go beyond teaching the curriculum.
If you are interested in making a donation, please contact or visit the school office for more information.
Gospel Value of the Month
Every month our students practice a Gospel value of the month and the student who best exemplifies
such value is chosen as Student of the Month for each grade level.
The First Theological Virtue: FAITH
Faith is the theological virtue by which we believe in God and believe all that He has said and revealed to us, and that Holy
Church proposes for our belief, because He is truth itself.”
(Catechism 1814)
Act of Faith—The Act of Faith confirms our beliefs and, through that confirmation, strengthens our faith.
O my God, I firmly believe that You are one God in three divine persons,
Father, Son and Holy Spirit. I believe that Your divine Son became man
and died for our sins, and that He will come to judge the living and the
dead. I believe these and all the truths which the Holy Catholic Church
teaches, because in revealing them You can neither deceive nor be deceived.
