of technology
Safety,

performance
The Merlo brand is synonymous with advanced technology in the field
of telehandlers and operating plants. Since 1964 Merlo’s history has been one
of ideas, tenacity, and passion. Together these characteristics form the
cornerstone of an industrial group that has developed a highly successful
range of products, which have been awarded numerous international prizes.
The development of complex projects, from initial idea to end product and
design to sales, requires the ability to innovate and anticipate the needs and
future trends of an increasingly competitive market. In pursuit of more
ambitious goals, Merlo technology has become the driving force behind a
development program that is able to look beyond the conventional. Safety,
comfort and performance are the key concepts. The result is that every
machine we build is a record beater, in terms of design, power, environmental
safety, and customer satisfaction. This winning attitude is demonstrated by
our integrated production process, modern construction methods, process
automation, revolutionary integrated electronic systems, robotic machining
systems and in many other ways. The will to maintain closer links with our
customers is reflected in our ongoing programs of personnel training and
refresher courses, in the quality of our service network, and in the
relationships of mutual trust we have built with our dealers.
The result is a range of compact and maneuverable machines that offer
unparalleled comfort, efficiency and, above all, safety. This is the strength
of the Merlo Group.

The reduced dimensions make these telehandlers ideal for work in restricted
environments.
The chassis architecture is innovative and the telescopic boom is extremely
compact and built using the tried and tested Merlo system of having all the
mechanical workings within the boom structure.
The extension components, hydraulic, and electrical systems are well
protected within the boom structure.
By not leaving parts on the exterior, damage caused by the inevitable knocks
received on the work-site is avoided.

In 1987 Merlo designed the Panoramic telehandler with its patented sidemounted engine layout, to ensure the best «panoramic» view around the cab,
which has become state-of-the art. Since then, the Panoramic models are
among the best selling products of the Merlo Group. One of the most popular
Panoramic w/o stabilizers is the P34.10EE. It can be used in confined spaces,
thanks to its compactness and its three-mode steering system which increases
maneuverability and versatility. The engine and hydrostatic transmission are
electronically controlled for better performance. The transmission is also
equipped with a two-speed mechanical gearbox designed to suit speed from
zero to 25 MPH (15MPH for the P34.10EE). Its low center of gravity and correct
weight distribution allow excellent stability and the permanent 4WD system
allows for the best traction. Comfort is assured by a cab designed and
manufactured by Merlo. The internal cab width of 3’-3” is the best in its class.
The driving position and controls have been designed according to the latest
ergonomic standards to ensure the maximum comfort.

The unique Merlo design ensures good weight balance which, together with
versatile drive/steer axles, extraordinary ground clearance, permanent 4WD and
road travel at up to 25MPH (15MPH for the P38.13EE), ensure unrivalled driving
ability in the most challenging of ground conditions. The Panoramic telehandlers
feature a brilliant boom side-shift system uniquely developed by Merlo. The
operator controls the resulting sideways movement of the load with great
accuracy. Two hydraulically operated stabilizers on the front axle ensure the
necessary stability and allow the machine to be fully operational on uneven or
sloping grounds. The operator can place the stabilizers independently upon the
ground and use them to level the chassis. Two most important models are available
in the US are the P38.13EE (compact, user-friendly and versatile) and P40.17EE (the
flagship, with power, load capacities, and lift heights that are industry standards.).

Comfort and safety are indissoluble features, because they both aim at improving
working conditions. The philosophy that has driven research in the last few years
has been given fresh impetus by the new CS models equipped with active cab
suspensions. The Panoramic P 55.9 CS is a revolutionary telehandlers that introduce
new solutions for design and engineering, and anticipate what telehandlers will be
like in the next few years. This product family offers many unique technologies as
standard in order to increase confort, productivity and reduce the fuel
consumption. Best in class comfort is ensured by the hydro-pneumatic cab
suspension, a patented technology witch only Merlo telehandlers can offer.
Another exclusive Merlo technology, the EPD (Eco Power Drive), reduces the
consumption of about 18% to garantee low cost of ownership. The maximum
productivity is delivered also thanks to the «self accelerating system» integrated in
the joystick function and the dual reverse shuttle system with buttons on the
steering column and the joystick.

A complete range of products able to match all different customer needs when it
comes to our heavy duty range. The P60.10EE is available conceived for HeavyDuty applications. It is powered by a 4 cyl. engine rated at 101HP and it weights
(total unladen mass with forks) 22,000 LBS, while the P50.18HM, P.65.14 HM, and
P120.10HM are equipped with 6 cyl. engine rated at 145HP and they weight
34.000 LBS.
All the Merlo’s heavy duty range can benefit of the performances and the
precision of the hydrostatic transmission that combined with the two-speed
gearbox allows the reach 25 MPH.
Boom sideshift (a content that only Merlo can offer) together with the frame
leveling ensure the maximum versatility and productivity in all conditions.
The P 50.18 HM, P 65.14 HM and P 120.10 HM are then equipped with the Merlin
system an onboard computer that acquires and processes all inputs and outputs
from the various working areas of the machine. The main operating conditions
and all information necessary to the operator are continuously displayed in an
easy and intuitive format and acts as a versatile and effective tool.

Merlo technicians and engineers have always been fascinated by research
and technological innovation. They spur on our development and respond
to daily challenges, whereby apparently insurmountable obstacles are
overcome. When traditional handling methods cannot get the job done, it’s
time for a new idea: Roto – a telescopic handler with the added dimension
of a slewing turret. Safety, efficiency and manoeuvrability are the key
features of this revolutionary concept, the fruit of Merlo’s research and
experience since 1990. Roto embodies a new concept of strength in action,
successful even in the most challenging handling and lifting operations,
thanks to their tremendous off-highway performance. Imagine a family of
machines, combining all the benefits of a telescopic handler plus a
lightweight lifting capability and the ability to safely place personnel into
position at height. Roto family are featured by hydro-pneumatic suspension
that allows up to 25MPH and four hydraulic independently controlled
stabilizers, for maximum efficiency and maximum driving comfort.

The benefits of being a Merlo customer, innovative products
and tailor-made services
Excellent products backed up by excellent services
In our increasingly globalized and dynamic world, Merlo invests 10% of its turnover in product development, as we believe
this is the key to increasing our market share in the international market place.
Over the years, the Merlo brand has become synonymous with excellence and advanced technology.
The first step towards certified quality was taken in 2008, when we brought our production system in line with
the requirements of the ISO 9001Quality Control standard. At the same time we laid the foundations of our company policy
to always put the Customer first, implementing investments aimed at customer services in the areas of Financing, Service,
Training, Parts and Telematic support, such as remote diagnostics with the Merlo Mobility project.
New automated Parts Service
Included in these investments is the new Parts storage facility, which covers an area of 75,300 ft². It provides 13,000 yd³
of storage pace, enough to maintain a stock of 17,000 different parts. Furthermore, the facility is able to automatically manage
94% of the orders fulfilled each day, with average picking time of 30 seconds per line.
Focus on the customer is a challenge that Merlo has taken up and is determined to win, guaranteeing products, services
and logistics to meet the needs of our customers and help them succeed in an increasingly dynamic and competitive worlds.
