with traditional games, dances and food offering.

In December, in cooperation with Siem Reap Police Station, we
conducted a traffic law workshop for our young people. More than 60

accident.
Graduation at Haven Vocational Training and Restaurant

successfully from Haven Restaurant after completing a one year

Life Skill Students Visit a Hotel
In September, the fourth
generation of life skill students
attended their visit to the Pacific
Hotel
(www.pacifichotel.com.kh). This
opportunity enables them to see
the reality of working in the
hotel industry, gain knowledge
and guide them to a potential
future career. This experience is
very beneficial towards creating
better opportunities for our
students.
Angkor Wat Bike4Kids 2015
In December, more than 80
students and staff participated in
the race and ride. Our executive
director, Ravy completed his
second challenge, to cycle 30km
for SK fundraising. They enjoyed
it very much. Thanks to HOPE &
the organizers who sponsored
the students. Thanks to our
individual donors who donated
to SK for its project operation.
Partnership for Scholarship
In August, our Director facilitated
and helped our partner,
Chance2Study settle an
agreement with USEA (University
of South East Asia) for their
scholarship students.
Partnership for Community
We helped our partner and
donor- Diakam and Women’s
Resource Center, to conduct a
public meeting to discuss
workshops for community
members.
Football League
In December the football season
started. 3 football teams (U16
boy, U18 girl and U18 boy) from
our school were selected to take
part in Siem Reap Junior Soccer
league, organized by Globalteer.
Second SK’s Board Meeting

Changes
Human Resource
English teacher, Sovong Sey, the third longest serving staff
member with SK, left us as he applied and got a job as a
high school teacher. We now welcome our new English
teacher, Mr. Bona to our team here at SK.
Launch Our New Website
After building and designing our new website, for a period
of time, we are pleased to announce that our website has been
launched to the public and to our donors and supporters.
Volunteers
Welcome, and thanks to the past and current volunteers, Marianna, Marcin, Frank,
Andrew, Marijke, Steph, and Gradey who have worked with our teachers, librarian and
management to improve those areas and to fundraise for our school.
Project Improvement
We have developed two larger projects, Primary Education Support Project (PESP)
and Young People Empowerment Project (YPEP) for logical Frameworks, proposals
and monitoring frameworks. We are looking for support from various donations.
Building Communication with Partners and Donors
Salariin Kampuchea continues to
collaborate with our partners and
donors, to improve our services
and communication as much as
possible. For the last six months,
we have been particularly busy:
- We continue to work with
Diakam and Women Resource
Center, for Chreav community
engagement. We arranged and
conducted a community meeting
with Chreav commune leader,
village
chiefs,
and
other
stakeholders discussing needs,
training and workshops for the
beneficiaries in the community.
Switzerland
Association
continues their support for 2016.
- We continued communication
with Siem Reap Police Office. We
conducted a traffic law workshop
to over 60 young people.
- We continued our partnership
with the Pacific hotel, so the 4th
generation of life skill students
were able to visit the hotel and
gain work experience. 45 young
people learnt more about the
hotel sector, what the hotel does
and how it employs their staff.
- We continue our membership
with Siem Reap Education
Supporting Team (SEST)-NGO
network in Siem Reap and NGO
Education Partnership (NEP), to
help its members improve and
solve issues within the education
sector, at provincial and national
level. We were invited to
educational
workshops
and
meetings in Phnom Penh and
Siem Reap.
- HOPE continued their support,
by sponsoring over 30 of SK’s
students, to participate in the
Angkor Bike4Kids 2015.
- We have developed an exchange
program with Donabate Portrane
Educate Together National
School (DPETNS).
- We are pleased to announce
that SK is now officially a
member of the Concert
Organization, as well as a partner
of the Cambodian Volunteer
Foundation.

From July to September this year, a consultant, David and our volunteer, Andrew supported our
executive director to create logical frameworks and project proposals as well as monitoring and
evaluation frameworks.
We cooperated with DPETNS in Ireland as they offered teacher training to SK and PEPY.
In July, our director participated in a week’s training course on Good Governance, Professionalism
and Accountability (GPA) with CCC.
Our teachers attended a teacher training at KKO in Siem Reap.
Our new English teacher, Mr. Bona has been trained and introduced to SK, our policies, and
regulation.
Our teacher trainer stipend, Marijke joined SK in November. She has now begun providing daily
support to our teachers and librarian as well as all educational programs that SK offers.
Our visitors, Sofie & Kate conducted health training as well as art classes for students and staff.
Football
After a long break whilst looking for new sponsors, in
November this year, we have selected our football teams
again to participate in the football season and competition
with other Siem Reap NGOs. As a result, SK has three football
teams, U16 boys, U18 girls and U18 boys. SK participated in
training and coaching as well as participating in the
Globalteer Junior Soccer League. Many thanks to our
supporters for their donations. Our students continue to play
fantastically, grow in confidence, and show real team spirit.
Global Giving
In September, we participated in Bonus Day-Online Fundraising with Global
Giving to find more donations through online fundraising. We will continue
to work to raise essential funds for the organization through this partner.
We maintain our fundraising campaigns to support our, “Enhance 200
Cambodians’ Lives through Education” and “Support Sexual Education for Young
Cambodians” projects. Funds are intended for use across all of our educational programmes within the
organization. We would appreciate you taking the time to have a look at our page here, and to share it
with your friends, colleagues, and family. It is a safe, secure way to give to Salariin Kampuchea.
