Don’t miss out on all the fun Summer
activities with the club!
Next Board of Directors Meeting: Tuesday July 21, 7PM, in the Harwood Room of the Midway Hotel,
1005 South Moorland Rd, Brookfield
Thoughts of the Month from Dawn
Summer has finally arrived and so have the start of our summer activities.
The club has Monday night biking, which is a faster pace ride, and Wednesday night, which is a more casual ride. If you have not biked with the club
before, it’s a good way to meet new people. On Wednesday we have Volleyball at Greenfield Park and Tuesday golf at the various Milwaukee County
courses.
This summer we have something new with a one day trip to Lambeau Field
and an overnight trip to see the Ford Museum in Detroit. Club members Jean
and Tom Bronson have volunteered to organize and lead these trips.
Returning favorites are Black River State Forest & Door County Camping
trips, Apostle Island Sea Kayak & Swim Weekend, Badger Game and the
Corn Roast.
CELEBRATIONS
The Sitzmark Ski Club is celebrating its 50th year and we are looking for ideas on how to celebrate. If you have suggestions please email the board at:
[email protected] or call me at 414-315-5100.
UPCOMING CHANGES
The clubs monthly membership meetings for the past few years have been at Cali’s bar at the Midway Hotel. They have
under gone renovations and now have a brand new Ground Round Restaurant that occupies the old bar and restaurant
area. In the short term we will be using the Midway’s banquet rooms for our meetings. Megan Reilly and Dave Wherry
are heading a committee to discuss the future of our meetings and how to promote the club. We need Sitzmarks to voice
their opinions, suggestions, ideas, & potential solutions as to what we should do about our monthly meetings next year
and to have a discussion on what you would like to
see! Contact Megan at [email protected] or call 414-617-1995.
Looking forward to seeing you at some events this summer!

Western Ski Trips
All of our Western Trips can be paid by credit card! Registration is done online at www.sitzmark.org once the details are finalized.
These are our destinations so far. We are still in the process of finalizing contracts. Not all air options are available at this point in time, so pricing will come out next month.
In addition to the following finalized trips, we are considering an additional trip to Mammoth California
in Conjunction with the Riverside California Sitzmarks.
Vail
December 9-13, 2015
Trip leader- Marc Pettit
Our annual Vail Kick-off trip will again be at the Landmark
Condominiums. We will have options for 3 or 4 day lift
tickets. Estimated price between $800-$900
Coveted as one of the largest ski resorts in the world with more than 5,200 acres of skiable terrain, seven legendary
Back Bowls spanning seven miles, and the most groomed terrain on the planet, Vail has been an extraordinary winter
vacation destination for passionate skiers and snowboarders for more than 50 years. The vacation experience is exceptional, from the Vail Ski & Snowboard School to events, activities and festivals, shops and spas, abundant culinary
experiences and luxurious accommodations. Vail is a mountain resort like nothing on earth. Vail Mountain is accessed
by three base areas: Lionshead (where our condos are located), Vail Village, and Golden Peak. The Front Side of Vail
is home to the most groomed terrain on the planet. The Legendary Back Bowls offer wide open skiing and amazing
views.
Schweitzer Mountain
January 20-25, 2016
Trip leader- Dave Wherry
This has been a long awaited destination
for our Club!
Lodging at the Selkirk Lodge includes
breakfast. Package includes a four day
lift ticket.. Estimated price around $1200
2,900 acres, with 2,400 feet vertical drop, and top elevation of 6,400 feet so there’s less of the altitude issues of other
resorts. Stand at the top and stare at three mountain ranges, Canada and three states. You'll be swept away by the
surrounding views from the summit of Schweitzer. Schweitzer is small, peaceful, there are no crowds, it is delightfully
unpretentious, and the resort has a nice local feel to it. Ski Magazine has voted Schweitzer as “the best kept secret in
North America”.
