IN THE NEWS...KRCG Segments Applaud Academies @ JCHS!
KRCG reporter, Ryann Rumbaugh, has thoroughly enjoyed interviewing and getting to know
students and staff associated with the Academies. So much so that she has shared air
dates/times of her segments (see below). Be sure to spread the word and remind friends and
family members to set those DVR's! The videos and web stories will be available after the initial
airing. We will be sure to post/share once available.

Join us for what's sure to be a top-notch performance! The production will take place at the Miller

Performing Arts Center, November 14-16th with four shows. They begin with a free Senior
Citizen Matinee at noon on Nov. 14th, then 7:30pm shows on Friday, November 14th and
Saturday, November 15th. Sunday, November 16th concludes with a 2:00pm matinee.
$5 for students and $7 for adults. Box office ticket sales will be held in the Miller PAC atrium,
Monday, November 10th-Thursday, November 13th from 4pm-7pm.

personali>es, will be reading to Mrs. Bax's 3rd grade class for the Book Buddies Program. CALLAWAY HILLS ELEMENTARY RECEIVES SPECIAL GIFT
The JCPS Foundation presented a check to Callaway Hills for $1,000 from Brenda Leydens.
Brenda loves the Holts Summit area and wants to support students through fitness. This is the
second gift to Callaway Hills from Ms. Leydens. She also gave a check through the Foundation
in 2013 for $1,000. Callaway Hills is fortunate to have a wonderful donor and friend like Ms.
Leydens.

PIES FOR SALE!
Dates: Friday, Nov. 14-Sunday, Nov. 16th
Place: the front of Hy-Vee by the produce area
What it benefits: It helps the orchestra raise money to repair broken instruments and purchase
new instruments for their students. This allows us to offer free instruments for students in grades
5-12 to use.
Who: The Jay Orchestra Boosters are running the fundraiser in conjunction with Hy-Vee to help
the orchestra students.
Important Info: The pies are very, very tasty and very popular. They are great for use during the
holidays or consumption anytime:-) They can be frozen and eaten later. You can buy them
baked or unbaked. We have samples and customers my choose between traditional apple pies
and dutch apple pies.
