Important Information
Please call if you child needs add a day for
the week. We will do our very best to
accommodate everyone’s needs. However,
many of our rooms are full and we need to
make sure that there is availability in the
classrooms as well as proper staffing. This
must be arranged with the front desk prior
to coming in for the added day.
As the weather gets warmer many children
bring in their own water bottle. Please be
assured that children can have as much
water as they need throughout the day. We
provide cups if they need a drink
throughout the day (especially when they
come in from outside). However, many
like to have their “own” water bottles when
they see their friends bring them in. You
may bring these water bottles or cups in if
you wish to do so. They must be taken
home at the end of the day and brought
back the next day cleaned and ready to be
used. Some children use disposable water
bottles that can be thrown away at the end
of the day. Please do what is easiest for
you and your family. We have had some
questions and wanted to make sure that
everyone is on the same page.
The last day of school for our latchkey
children is on Wednesday, June 15th.
Children that will be moving rooms for the
summer will receive a packet with their
new classroom for the summer. In the fall
you will receive another packet on which
classroom that your child will go into.
Please see the front desk if you have any
questions on classrooms.
Please keep in mind that we are a Peanut
Free Zone and peanut products cannot be
in the classrooms. We have many children
with allergies to nuts. If your child is
bringing in their own lunch, please make
sure that it is not a peanut butter and jelly
sandwich. We cannot give them this in the
classroom. Also, please be courteous and
check all labels and make sure that your
items that you are bring in do not contain
peanut products.
We appreciate your help in this and
keeping our kids safe!

Father’s Day “Pops with Pop”
Our annual father’s day “pops with pop” will be held on Tuesday,
June 14th from 3pm to 4pm. We hold the father’s day event
between 3pm and 4pm because of our latchkey children that get
off the bus at 4pm. We want to make this a special time for the
children and their dad’s without having any added interruptions as
classrooms are moving and children are getting off the bus.
Dad’s, grandpa’s, uncles or special friends may come and have a
popsicle with their children in the classroom or on the playground.
The children love to play on the playground with their dads!
Children have also made a special gift for their dads that they will
be giving to them that day.
Please don’t feel bad if you cannot make this special event. We
understand that everyone has schedules during the day. No child is
ever excluded from the fun. They will still receive a Popsicle and be
able to do fun things in the classroom as well.
We hope that all of you have a wonderful Father’s Day this year!
Summer Field Trip and Activity Dates
We have our summer field trip and activity dates all planned for the
summer. Permission slips will come out in the parent envelopes for
field trips. They MUST be turned in by the scheduled date in order to
attend. No permission slips will be able to be turned in late. We must
notify our place with our numbers and for the movie theater we have to
have our drink order placed.
Please do not feel that your child be left out if they do not attend the
field trip. There are many children that do not attend. We are discreet
when we are leaving and they have fun activities to do here at the
center while we are gone.
This year we will be doing things a little differently. At this time we
have a bus scheduled for our field trips. Unless things change we will
plan to have the bus take us to and from our field trips. However, this
is a first come, first serve basis. Parents are not permitted to ride the
bus unless there is room. Your child may ride with you or the bus (if
there is room) if parents or grandparents are attending.
Below are the dates of our field trips for this summer:
June 21st –
NCG Theater – Finding Dory
nd
July 22 –

Sippy Cups
Just a friendly reminder, when taking sippy
cups home at the end of the day, please
make sure that they are being washed and
brought back the next day. Many sippy
cups have several different items that come
out to be cleaned (such as lid, stopper,
straw, etc). All items should be removed,
cleaned and the cup put back together. If
you are unsure if your cup has multiple
spots to be cleaned, please let us know. We
will be happy to look at it. There have been
many sites online that are showing different
cups that mold in different areas. We are
finding some of these cups are coming in
that are having similar problems. Rest
assured that we have washed them for you
and many have been given a note to let you
know where we found the problem. We
want to make sure that all our children are
safe.
Medication in Cups/Bottles
Medicine in sippy cups and/or bottles is not
permitted by state law. If your child has
medication in a bottle or cup we will need
to be notified immediately and a
medication form MUST be filled out (even
if the parent is the one that is giving the
medication). The cup and/or bottle will
need to be drank at that time and cannot sit
out for an extended period of time. At no
time can medication be put into a cup and
left to drink throughout the day.
Splash Days are here!!!!
Guess what time it is??? It’s Splash Day time!!! Splash days are every Friday (weather permitting). These are done in
the morning time. Splash Days that are cancelled due to weather will not be made up. Therefore, you don’t have to
remember to bring in their items on different days.  All classrooms participate in splash day!
In order to participate in splash day, children must have… a bathing suit (a shirt can be worn over a swimsuit but
clothing may not be used as a swimsuit), a towel, extra pair of shoes that can get wet (water shoes, flip flops, crocs,
etc.) and a bag to put everything in. ALL items must be labeled with your child’s name and/or initials. Brandi’s Place
is not responsible for lost or missing items. Children that do not have their items cannot use their extra clothing in their
bins. Brandi’s Place does not provide towels as we use our large towels for drying items that may have had bleach on
them. Children will still go outside during splash time if they don’t have their items but will be playing in a different
part of the playground where they will not get wet.
Please keep in mind that Brandi’s Place does NOT have any pools or standing water. These are sprinklers and other
fun water activities that the children do. Please see a director if you have any questions regarding splash days.
Young 5’s Program
Congratulations to our Young 5’s Classroom!!!!! All of our classrooms work so hard throughout the year. Our Young 5’s room mimics a
kindergarten room and the program runs from September through June. This program is for children going to kindergarten the
following fall. It is our last step before the “Big School!” Your child will automatically be placed into our Young 5’s class if they will be
going to kindergarten during the fall of 2017. Packets will go out in August for this. We are so proud of all of our children and all their
hard work they do. Our beginning preschool and preschool rooms work so hard to prepare them for the young 5’s program. Their
graduation is on June 13th where they receive a portfolio of their work (work that they did throughout the year, pictures, and more), a
graduation picture in their cap and gown and a certificate. Their ceremony includes a song that they will sing for everyone, getting their
awards and then a fun little treat after.
Parents have received their invitation and program (for them to keep as a keepsake) last month.
Congratulations to all of you!!! You are officially ready for the BIG SCHOOL!!!!
Schedule Changes
Please keep in mind that schedules are due by Thursday the
week before. We understand that many schedules change
during the summer months and people take vacations. Please
remember that Brandi’s Place does not have vacation or sick
days. Schedules must be given to a director by either writing
on the bottom of your check in the notes section, attaching a
post it note to your check or putting a note in the parent note
box or tuition box. Directors do scheduling for staff on
Friday mornings and must know the children’s schedules in
order to have proper staffing. If a schedule has not been
given, your current week’s schedule will be used for the
next week. If you need to add days (if there is availability)
you will be able to do that.
Teacher’s get a weekly attendance sheet each week with
everyone’s schedule on it. You may still tell the teacher if
your child will not be in attendance, however directors will
let them know as well. The front desk must be notified of
any changes your child may have.
Please note that many classrooms are full and there may not
be room to add days on certain weeks. This is why it is very
important to make sure schedules are given on time.
Hello! We are pleased to send you this
monthly issue of Brandi’s Buzz. We want to
keep you up to date with upcoming events as
well as some parenting tips, communication
and of course a little bit of humor! It is our
way saying that you are important to us and
we truly value your family. Enjoy!
