PRODUCT
Just imagine, it’s three o’clock in the morning, you’re snug as a bug
in a rug all bundled up in a nice warm bed when you wake up and
realize …It’s time! It’s another cold windy March night when you
roll out of bed make your way down stairs, quickly slip on a loose
pair of boots and make the trek across the driveway heading to the
greenhouse to load the wood fired furnace protecting your babies
from yet another cold night. It sounds like very uncomfortable
situation but I prefer to interpret it as invigorating and encouraging.
It only means one thing. Winter is on its way out and we will be
playing in the gardens very soon! It’s such a privilege for me to
experience that feeling I get every time I open the greenhouse doors
in the middle of a moonlit night and smell the fresh vegetation
just begging for attention. Often times I would linger longer than I
needed just to savor the moment. Some may say I’m a bit twisted
but I’m sure as a true gardener, you would appreciate my perspective.
From this day forth, I will continue to visit the greenhouse on a daily basis tending to the
needs of our young plants, mostly annuals and tender perennials which will be used for our
hanging baskets as well as vegetable seedlings. It’s always a pleasure to get started
so early in the season. Drop us a line on Facebook and tell us your guilty pleasures
when it comes to gardening. It’s always very inspiring to hear what others are doing
to make it through these long winters.
Again, in closing I would just like to thank each and every one of you who purchase from us
throughout the year. Your support is very much appreciated. We truly enjoy making our plants
available to you and your family throughout the year. Our intent is to continue to fuel the
gardening passion for all those who have it. We look forward to yet another successful season
in the gardens. As always, please feel free to contact us at any time for help and inspiration
for your garden.

DEAN COLE SIBERIAN IRIS
D. Cole Siberian Iris
With a passion for beauty, and a keen eye sensitive to the many facets of Siberian Iris, Dean Cole has
been creating new cultivars since the mid 1990’s.
In his trial gardens, Dean is breeding hundreds of these new gems every
year. A long and involved dedication that follows is the growing and
meticulous evaluation before any new introductions can be revealed. This
process takes years. Like a fine jeweler appreciating an exquisite diamond,
Dean has created and introduced some very unique specimens. As usual,
he’s always chasing that Karat!
As a result, Dean won the Beatrice Warburton hybridizer medal, for
“My First Kiss” in 2013. “My Girl Emily” won 2nd runner up at the 2013
Siberian iris convention in Michigan.
As Dean continues to work his magic, keep an eye out for his new introductions. I’m sure he will be
successful in creating some new jewelry for your gardens too!
