3.9 Appendice 9
Selection of possible formats for realisation in Underground
stations and trains.
This selection should be understood as an information (not as a
recommendation). Other formats for realisation can be proposed too. Alll
formats will require permission from the transport company BVG.
Work can be realised outside (but close to) stations and trains, for
example in areas in front of stations or in areas parallel to the
overground tracks between stations.
3.9.1. Format for realisation: “Berliner Fenster”
“Berliner Fenster” is an information and entertainment medium in a splitscreen on Underground trains.
The Berliner Fenster programme is broadcast weekdays daily from 4 am
to midnight and at the weekend round-the-clock from Friday to Saturday.
Based on an average journey time of approx. 11 minutes, the 15 minute
programme loop presents themes such as news, magazine, information
and advertising.
Video works for the Berliner Fenster should be maximum 40 seconds
long. Technical information here:

Fenster”)

3.9.2. Format for realisation: Billboards
Billboards in Berlin Underground stations are 252 x 356 cm. Print or
other medium possible.
For the required cost etsimate, please calculate 500 Euro per billboard,
per month plus 200 Euro printing costs as an approximation.
3.9.3. Format for realisation: “former station guards’ huts”
Former station guards’ huts are spaces for breaks from work for BVG
staff on the platforms. Years ago they were used by station guards all
day, now they are used occassionally for short staff breaks. The public
are not allowed into the huts.
The huts’ windows can be used as display spaces for art works.
