One in five Mayan children under the age of five dies as a result of a preventable disease. Hearts & Hands is fighting this by providing families with a unique cooking stove that reduces eye and respiratory disease, prevents burns, and reduces wood consumption, fuel gathering and deforestation. The majority of Mayan children quit school by Grade 2, due to a severe lack of facilities, qualified teachers and learning materials. Hearts & Hands is fighting this by building schools, training teachers, and developing and implementing bilingual (Mayan/Spanish) school materials. Your participation, sponsorships and donations help fund Hearts & Hands programs in Guatemala.
