Vintage Car Club Inks Deal with Pala Mesa Resort for 2016 Show
On Friday, 7/17/15, the
Fallbrook Vintage Car Club
entered into a Memorandum
of
Agreement with the Pala Mesa Resort to hold their 51st
Annual Fallbrook Vintage
Car Show at the facility on
May 29, 2016.
Based on the
success of the 2015 vintage
car show both parties were
quite willing to ‘sign up’
again for next year. Car club
President, Roy Moosa, and
Pala Mesa Resort
General Manager, Kevin
Poorbaugh were the principals that signed the agreement

Car Show Chairman,
Doug Allen, assisted by club
members Ron Mintle and Chuck Tillotson will head up the car show committee for the 2016 event.
They are already preparing for the show in the attempt to make it an even better venue than 2015.
Among their first priorities they are studying improvements in traffic control, ingress and egress to
the resort, and more space for public parking.

Fallbrook Vintage Car Club holds Annual
Barbecue and Election of
The Executive Board
105 members of the Fallbrook Vintage Car Club gathered together on the afternoon of June 28 th at the home of Ron and
Bev Mintle to enjoy the club’s annual BBQ and hold a general meeting which included the election of the executive board
for the 2015-2016 year.
Members were invited to drive their classic cars to the
BBQ and put on a mini car show. Over 25 vehicles were on
display.
After the club members spent a few hours socializing and partaking of a terrific BBQ meal catered by ‘The Rib Shack’,
president Roy Moosa kicked off the general meeting. Moosa provided a brief summary of the many club events and activities that had occurred during the past year. Club membership has also been on the rise and now boasts a total of 240
members. In particular, Moosa congratulated all those involved in producing the 50 th annual vintage car show held at the
Pala Mesa Resort. He noted that it was the largest and most successful car show that the club has ever held since its inception 50 years ago.
Elections were then held for executive board positions for the 2015-2016 year. A proposal to retain the existing board
members for the new term was unanimously approved by the membership. The board members reelected were: Roy
Moosa, President; Mike McGuire, Vice
President; Wayne King, Secretary; Lee Johnson, Treasurer
and John Waugh, Member At Large.
At the conclusion of the general meeting, the Darwyn
Lumley Members Only Car Show awards were made to
those that brought their vintage cars. The car show is
named after Lumley who is a noted author, automotive historian, and member of several antique car clubs. This year
marked the 15th year these awards were given and they
are very nonsensical vehicle classifications meant to be a
lot of fun. The award winners of each classification were as
follows:

The Fallbrook Vintage Car Club Makes Monthly Donations
Receiving donation is Volunteer Sheriff Manny Ortega, FVCC members Glen Patterson and Lee
Johnson, Volunteer Sheriff Martha Choi and FVCC member Fred Ragland.
The Fallbrook Volunteer Sheriffs Officers help our community by serving the people. By providing
the safety of people and property the volunteers have a rewarding task. They bring food and comfort to our senior citizens through a program called YANA, (You Are Not Alone). The FVCC donation
will be added to an existing fund for their long awaited Christmas party.
The FVCC made another generous donation to the Fallbrook Pop Warner Football team this month
to help purchase needed supplies. The donation will be used for their football and cheerleading
training equipment which involves football pop-up dummies, step over pads and cheer mats.
Fallbrook Pop Warner is dedicated to developing the youth of Fallbrook on and off the field by showing their community spirit.

The Fallbrook Vintage Car Club Gives Two Donations
The Fallbrook Vintage Car Club, (FVCC) was happy to make two donations this month. Our first is for the Fallbrook
Boys and Girls Club of North County. This donation was given to the Boys and Girls Club to be used to cover an annual
$30 membership fee for 20 needy youths in Fallbrook. It will allow these 20 children to participate in the clubs facilities
that could otherwise be left at home alone and possibly unsupervised. CEO Allison Barclay said, “Our mission is to inspire all youths, especially those who need it the most, and hopefully will become caring, responsible and productive citizens.“
Presenting donation is (L) FVCC member, Bill LeMasters to Boys and Girls Club, CEO Allison Barclay with some very
happy and appreciating children looking on. Fallbrook Vintage Car Club member, Don Kratzer was very helpful by bringing his classic 1963 Thunderbird Rooster convertible in for the photograph.
The second donation was given to the, The Fallbrook Chorale. They consider themselves the Music Makers and the
Dreamers of Dreams. Since 1989 the Fallbrook Chorale has continued the dream by making music for our community.
They are a nonprofit choral group, organized for the purpose of providing vocal music to Fallbrook and our surrounding
communities. They participate in various community sponsored events such as Memorial Day, Veterans Day, 9/11 Tribute and many other area functions. The money will be used to help purchase music and instrumentation for a full orchestra that will become part of the chorale.
Presenting the donation is (L) FVCC member, Connie Waugh to the Fallbrook Chorale director Denny Lang, secretary
Jeannie Hathaway and soprano Helene Beck. Fallbrook Vintage Car Club member, John and Connie Waugh were happy to share their beautiful turquoise and ivory white 1959 Metropolitan Nash convertible for the photo.
