The first automated system for sliding doors designed to meet
the needs of the market as well as protect our environment.
A140 Air is the first automated system that respects our planet.
Thanks to its innovative “Energy Saving” device it identifies
the direction of transit and perfectly optimizes opening/
closing times to avoid unnecessary air dispersion, even in
case of sideways transit. This device allows energy saving
and optimizes temperature sudden changes in the room and
near to the doors.
All in absolute safety.
A140 Air features an ETHERNET interface
for setting the operating parameters of the
automated system and viewing the fault
diagnostics with a PC connected to the
network.
The A140 Air automated system is
customizable and modular to meet the
architectural and technical needs of the
customer. Thanks to the two different
covers, the exclusive leaf fitting
systems and the different leaf profiles
that can be used, it is possible to create
the best technical and architectural
solution.

THERMOTOOL - Energy saving quantification
The “Energy Saving” device of A140 Air perfectly optimizes door opening/closing times, to avoid unnecessary dispersion of air.
This is done to limit the consumption of energy of the air-conditioning and heating systems with huge benefits in terms of economic
savings and reduction of polluting emissions (CO 2 ).
To prove the efficiency of the Energy Saving device, a dedicated software tool called THERMOTOOL has been designed, in
cooperation with BEA and the University of Liège (Belgium). THERMOTOOL allows to quantify energy savings in terms of both
economic savings and reduction of CO 2 polluting emissions, based on the dimensional characteristics and the geographical
position of the automated entrance.
THERMOTOOL is an effective, user-friendly tool and can be consulted at the web site www.faac.it in the section dedicated to the
A140 Air automated system.

The extruded aluminium supporting profile of the automated system features a carriage sliding guide made with a rail in special
aluminium alloy with anodization treatment, fitted on the supporting profile with a vibration-proof gasket.
Front housing in anodized or natural aluminium, complete with fall-prevention safety cables, marked holes to adapt leaves of different
thickness (up to 75 mm) and designed to lock in open position to perform maintenance operations.
24 V electric motor with special gearbox specifically designed for low noise performance and limited dimensions (zeroffset)

“Energy Saving” device: reduces the opening and closing times of the sliding doors, decreasing the heat loss between the inside
and outside by recognizing the walking direction of the pedestrian, both when leaving and when passing sideways parallel to the

Thanks to their compact dimensions, FAAC A100 COMPACT
automations can be adapted to every type of architectural
environment, even in limited space conditions. All the most
innovative technical features in just a few centimetres. For
the outmost versatility of use, the A100 COMPACT Series can
be adapted to sliding doors with single leaves and a maximum
weight of 110 kg or with double leaves and a maximum
weight of 70 kg each leaf. An A100 COMPACT automation
also guarantees considerable energy savings as regards airconditioning and the total removal of architectural barriers.

Reliable and always sliding
Designed to operate at best on each occasion and in every
environment, A100 COMPACT automations are automatically
reliable, without limits on the frequency of use. In the event
of a power cut, buffer batteries (optional) with charge control
guarantee 100% operation for thirty minutes.

Excellent logics in real time
A microprocessor verifies in real time all door activities and
guarantees an intelligent control. The operation logics can
be selected by means of a functions keypad.

Absolute safety
The A100 COMPACT Series automatically programs opening
and closing force and speed according to the friction and
the door weight in conformity with the relevant international
safety standards. In case of an obstacle the door reopens
immediately. On the next closing it verifies at slow speed if
the obstacle is still present.

and electronic components Faac Series 940 SM-SMD-SMT
automations for sliding doors are certified for over 2,000,000
opening and closing cycles and have no limits in the frequency
of use.
Motor and microprocessor electronic control unit undergo a
severe quality control program before delivery.
 Safety with no compromises
Thanks to their “self-learning” function, the Series 940
automations automatically set the opening and closing forces
according to the friction and the leaf weight in conformity with
the relevant safety standards.
In the event of a power cut, buffer batteries (optional) with
charge control guarantee 100% operation for thirty minutes.

The operation logics can be selected with the SD Keeper or
SDK Light functions keypads, which also signal and display any
faults through their diagnostics functions.
The assembly and installation procedures of Series 940 have
been conceived and designed to optimize the installation times
thanks to the wide working area, the easy fitting of trolley/
belt, the concept of the drive module and the limit switches on
the support profile. Moreover, the easy-to-assemble housing
can be locked in the open position and therefore it can be
easily manoeuvred by one operator. In this way, installation or

The 950N automated system with integrated spring
commands door opening and closing in near silent operation.
 Versatile and elegant
The Faac 950N automated systems (with spring closing
system) can be installed both on the lintel and directly on the
structure of the door. They guarantee perfect compatibility
and interchangeability with previous 950BM/BSM models.
The housing covering the automated system can be
supplied in anodized extruded aluminium or in shaped ABS
in an innovative design making it possible to fit a (passive
infrared) detection sensor inside it.
The 950N automated systems are also able to automate
double-leaf entrances by interfacing the 2 units in a master/
slave configuration and the double leaf will be moved by a
single automated system.
 Safe and intelligent
The automated system features two control boards: 950MPS
(control board) and 950 I/O (input / output). A microprocessor
controls all the activities of the door in real time and an
encoder detects its angular position. Moreover, the operating
logic (automatic, manual, night, open) can be selected by
means of an integrated selector.
Built in conformity with the new European safety standards,
speed and force are programmed according to the size
of the door. If an obstacle is detected, the door re-opens
immediately and, as it closes, it verifies, at slow speed, the
removal of the obstacle.

Powerful and reliable
Thanks to the accurate selection of the mechanical and
electronic components, depending on leaf length and arm
used our 950N automated system is able to move leaves
weighing over 300 kg on continuous duty, while always
maintaining absolute operational safety.

with the regulations on anti-panic safety exits. The opening of the doors in antipanic mode in case of emergency, is performed with simple manual pressure
(Fig.1): the hinged doors open wide laterally and immediately (Fig.2), freeing up
the passageway as much as possible and then, after an adjustable period of time,
close again automatically and the normal operation of the door is restored (Fig.3).
The use of electronics of the highest level, the absence of sharp edges and the
characteristics of the GBF1500 system ensure efficiency and reliability.

Technical characteristics
The system consists of strong extruded aluminium; the moving parts run on ball bearings
and the leaves are made of 10mm thick tempered glass. The anti-panic model GBF1500
consists of magnetic devices that allow you to keep the leaves in the normal position,
guaranteeing an adjustable release force not exceeding 220 N (replacing the conventional
mechanical devices that can jam.) The system is equipped with carriages that are preinstalled inside an aluminium box with an optional dust cover.

A new concept in automatic doors
with integrated air barrier.
The new AirSlide system features the exclusive self-supporting crossbar with
integrated automation and air barrier. FAAC has combined an automatic opening
and the air barrier system into a single unit with obvious aesthetic and functional
advantages. Curves and sleek lines make this system easy to integrate into
any architectural environment. Compared to the traditional air barrier applied
separately (see Fig. 1), the new AirSlide solution has the following advantages:

An elegant space-saving solution that allows you to
comply with the regulations regarding escape routes.
Automatic folding door SF140 with breakout anti-panic system, particularly
suitable in environments with limited space where it is not possible to install a
normal sliding door and where an escape route is needed. Built with specially
made extruded aluminium, with a sleek and slim design, distinguished by the

absence of external hinges and rounded edges. Door movement system is
obtained through linear tracking which gives it stability and fluidity by using ball
bearings which guarantee lightness and durability. The use of electronics of the
highest quality and the characteristics of the SF140 system ensure efficiency and
reliability.

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
The SF140 system is characterised by a removable aluminium alloy supporting structure
for easy transport and on-site assembly. The doors are made of a aluminium alloy with a
35mm cross section and a width of only 25mm which allow ample brightness.
The edges are rounded (in compliance with laws regarding accident prevention) and the
perimeter closure is guaranteed by the use of suitable brushes. The use of glass chamber,
in addition to creating a thermo-acoustic barrier, gives the door greater rigidity and
comfort.
The certified anti-panic opening system is assured by the use of double glazing adjustable
magnetic hooks which determine and guarantee ease of opening over time even in case
of mechanical degradation. It is possible to request the door with a maximum useful
passageway of up to 1800 mm.

The apn system is an essential accessory for the realisation of
automated entrances fitted on safety exit passage ways.
The apn system is a combination of components purposely designed
to facilitate assembly on the aluminium or iron profiles that have to
be used when realising automated sliding and semi-fixed leaves that
open by breakout if pushed towards the escape route.
Four different types of kits can be supplied:
 Apn 1 - for one sliding leaf
 Apn 2 - for two sliding leaves
 Apn 1+1 - for one sliding leaf and a semi-fixed leaf
 Apn 2+2 - for two sliding leaves and two semi-fixed leaves
Every kit is supplied complete with the safety accessories provided by
the current rules, such as photocells and/or magnetic microswitches
that are necessary to stop the operation of the automated system in
the event of a breakout through the leaves.

The FAAC cutting configuration file,
coupled to the technical drawings,

complete with gaskets to house glass
panels of a thickness of 8 mm or 10 mm
with PVB foil 0.76.
Rubber gaskets are interlock-fitted in the
centre of the sliding leaves and on the
sides a special gasket is used acting on
the fixed leaf vertical side on stroke. Both
gaskets improve the thermal insulation of
the entrance.
The central uprights of the fixed leaf are
30 mm wide and have a double groove
to house the photocell. The groove and
the visible wires of the photocells will be
closed by a quick-release rigid gasket.
The lower base is 80 mm high and an
internal seat houses a special plastic
profile with the following functions:
 brush support between leaf and floor
for the thermal insulation
 sliding guide of the sliding block
made of stainless steel.

ITEM OF SPECIFICATIONS TK50
Aluminium alloy profiles, series FAAC TK50, with thickness section of 50 mm., for automatic entrances with sliding and leaf doors.
Complete with glass-retaining profiles and gaskets to house glass panels up to a max thickness of 32 mm.
The base is 141 mm high and an internal seat houses the brushes for the thermal insulation and the sliding rails of the floor sliding block.
In the application coupled with the anti-panic break-through system APN, the profiles are coplanar with the structure and without
visible hinges. Rubber gaskets for the thermal insulation are fitted in the centre of the sliding leaves.
A “labyrinth” system is used on the sides consisting of two vertical profiles and an end-stroke gasket which intersect when doors
are closed. This labyrinth increases the thermal insulation of the entrance and improves the resistance to breaking in the event of
entrances coupled with anti-panic break-through system.
Pivoting rotation system of the leaves without cutting and crushing risk (also valid for the semi-fixed leaves of the anti-panic
break-through system) in compliance with the Machine Directive.

useful for overcoming architectural barriers.
Rotating and semi-circular doors open as soon as
we approach, and have a lot of advantages. That’s
why we come across more and more of them
every day, and manual doors suddenly seem old
fashioned to us.
FAAC automated systems make automatic doors
move ever more smoothly all over the world,
thanks to modern technologies, and the superior
quality of processes and materials, guaranteed by
on-going research. All this is aimed at improving
the ‘liveability’ of offices, shops and buildings in
general.
FAAC offers various types of rotating entrances
to satisfy customers’ different requirements. You
can select the number of sectors (2-3-4) and the
diameter (from 1800 to 4000 mm).
DESCRIPTION AND TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
FAAC revolving entrances stand out for their versatility and completeness.
They can operate automatically or manually. Leaf profiles are available in steel, aluminium with bronze or
paint finish, or completely in glass. They are safe thanks to electronic control of rotating speed and the
sensitive edges installed to ensure safety of persons located between moving and fixed parts.
The anti-panic break-out system of the rotating leaves optimises the opening to allow long or bulky objects
to pass through. The night-closure leaves and the electro-mechanical lock solve the anti-burglary security
requirements.

The semicircular doors confer on the entrances a
sleek and attractive aspect thanks to profiles with reduced section used on fixed and mobile leaves.
They can be designed according to the customer’s
aesthetic needs, making the entrance unique and
characterizing the building in an original way.
They can be equipped with the anti-panic breakout
system to ensure the escape routes.
FAAC can provide the complete entrance or only the
mechanism included the curved casing cover.
