NORTH SHORE OCEANFEST Film & Lecture Series Ocean Art Gallery 11:30am – Hawaii Fish Identification with Terry Lilley Kick off the NS Ocean Fest Film & Lecture Series with Marine Biologist Terry Lilley and a fun insightful look into Hawaii marine life in their natural habitats by learning how to spot and identify local animals. Stop by the Ocean Art Gallery and talk story with the exceptional local artists joining us at Ocean Fest. All their work is ocean and marine themed and available for purchase. Buy a piece and make sure to get a signature to make yours a unique piece, or stop by and join in to make your own art. 12:15pm – Humpback Whales film FREE ART WORKSHOPS with 11:30am – 3pm in the Oahu Room This film adventure set in Hawaiian waters gives an up close look at the mysterious and awe inspiring humpback whale. 1:00pm – Shark Conservation with Ocean Ramsey Join Ocean to learn more about how sharks play a vital role in maintaining a healthy ocean ecosystem and how being over-fished to the point of extinction can threaten the overall health of our oceans. 2:00pm – Plastic Paradise film This Award Winning film by Director Angela Sun takes a journey to the Midway atoll to explore the Great Pacific Garbage Patch, home to the largest collection of ocean plastics in the world. Learn more from scientists, researchers, and volunteers on how important it is to take action to reduce our impact now. A must see! Keiki Educational Booths Tour 11am – 4pm on the Kuilima Point. Lawn Visit the booths around the event for fun and educational activities all about the ocean, marine life, sustainability and more. Drawing, coloring, spinning, reading, playing & learning.
