Lorem Ipsum Dolor Spring 2016 “For A Better Rv Service” Dear Alliance Coach Family, Hope everyone is doing well. Now that the cold seems to be behind us, we can finally enjoy some of the beautiful weather that is approaching us. It certainly feels good to be putting the air conditioning on and turning the furnaces off. As I sit here writing this at the last Monday of April we are experiencing the first slow down after a very busy season here in Wildwood. If you were in during this season you saw many changes taken place, from more organization in the scheduling to the manicuring of the property. In Wildwood we have moved the sales inventory onto the lot, facing highway 44. This has drawn a tremendous increase in our traffic since so many people have told us they did not know we were here. In parts we have Chris Mantor to join our staff who brings much experience in the parts world and is now organizing and upgrading the retail store. We are constantly trying to improve our service department to make it smoother each year. In Lake Park things are progressing very well. We now have our inventory in place and sales have taken off. Each month we are trying to improve the service side and it has shown since each month we are increasing. We built a 35-seat presentation room in the shop to use for seminars and tech training. Ed Cowen is preparing to start his training this summer to help more techs in getting their certifications and adds additional lines to our long list of items we are a warranty center for. Lastly as Wildwood is a preferred collision center for many insurance companies, we are working hard to get our Lake Park location up to speed in our collision department. Both locations will be handled under the guidance of Victor Gonzalez who has many years in this business and perfection is his only way. To our newest local friends we are here for you, and for our traveling friends who have left Florida and heading all over the country drive safe, enjoy and see you next season. Truly Yours, Alan Shapiro President 2 Lorem Ipsum Dolor Spring 2016 Happy Mother’s Day Things My Mother Taught Me By: Bert Christensen 1. My mother taught me TO APPRECIATE A JOB WELL DONE. “If you’re going to kill each other, do it outside. I just finished cleaning.” 2. My mother taught me RELIGION. “You better pray that will come out of the carpet.” 3. My mother taught me about TIME TRAVEL. “If you don’t straighten up, I’m going to knock you into the middle of next week!” 4. My mother taught me about LOGIC. “Because I said so, that’s why.” 5. My mother taught me MORE LOGIC. “If you fall out of that swing and break your neck, you’re not going to the store with me.” 6. My mother taught me FORESIGHT. “Make sure you wear clean underwear, in case you’re in an accident.” 7. My mother taught me IRONY. “Keep crying and I’ll give you something to cry about.” 8. My mother taught me about the science of OSMOSIS. “Shut your mouth and eat your supper.” 9. My mother taught me about CONTORTIONISM. “Will you look at that dirt on the back of your neck!” 10. My mother taught me about STAMINA. “You’ll sit there until all that spinach is gone.” 11. My mother taught me about WEATHER. “Your room looks as if a tornado went through it.” 12. My mother taught me about HYPOCRISY. “If I told you once, I’ve told you a million times. Don’t exaggerate!” 13. My mother taught me the CIRCLE OF LIFE. “I brought you into this world, and I can take you out.” 14. My mother taught me about BEHAVIOR MODIFICATION. “Stop acting like your father!” 15. My mother taught me about ENVY. “There are millions of less fortunate children in this world who don’t have wonderful parents like you do.” 16. My mother taught me about ANTICIPATION. “Just wait until we get home.” 17. My mother taught me about RECEIVING. “You’re going to get it when you get home!” 18. My mother taught me MEDICAL SCIENCE. “If you don’t stop crossing your eyes, they are going to freeze that way.” 19. My mother taught me HUMOR. “When that lawn mower cuts off your toes, don’t come running to me.” 20. My mother taught me HOW TO BECOME AN ADULT. “If you don’t eat your vegetables, you’ll never grow up.” 21. My mother taught me GENETICS. “You’re just like your father.” 22. My mother taught me about my ROOTS. “Shut that door behind you. Do you think you were born in a barn?” 23. My mother taught me ESP. “Put your sweater on; don’t you think I know when you’re cold?” 24. My mother taught me WISDOM. “When you get to be my age, you’ll understand.” 25. And my favorite: my mother taught me about JUSTICE. “One day you’ll have kids, and I hope they turn out just like you!” 3 Lorem Ipsum Dolor Spring 2016 Our One-Of-A-Kind Collision Center in Wildwood, Florida Alliance Coach of Wildwood has a collision center like no other in the industry. Yes, our paint and body team does all the things other shops can do and they do it well. But where they stand out is in fabrication. On a recent walk through the body shop, Victor Gonzalez, our Paint & Body Manager, detailed what makes Alliance Coach truly unique. It is the ability to make a part if we need it! Think about it, how many RV manufacturers are no longer in business? If you wreck your RV and need a part that literally doesn’t exist, what do you do? Come to Wildwood and see Victor. His team has the tools, technology, and most important, the skill to manufacture parts to perfectly match your RV. That fender destroyed by a blown tire can be replicated in our shop; they make a mold to match the other side and use it to form the part. And it’s not only fiberglass, they can do metal work just as well. If your bay doors are damaged they can make new aluminum doors. They also do sidewalls. Right now there’s a beautiful 2008 Monaco Signature in the shop. It had a water leak that de-laminated the sidewall and there is no other solution than to remove the entire sidewall and replace it. But even that isn’t too big a challenge for our team, it’s repaired and in the booth for a perfectly matched paint job. It is truly amazing to see what these guys can do! Roof replacement is another area in which Victor’s team of professionals excels. No matter how well you take care of it, a rubber roof will deteriorate over time. It will dry out, crack, and leak. When that happens, come see Victor. His team can replace the entire roof. And we know weather isn’t the only thing that’s hard on an RV roof—trees and shrubbery can get pretty aggressive if you get too close. A confrontation between a tree limb and a rubber roof can leave serious damage to your RV. You can trust our Wildwood shop to restore it to “like new” condition. Along with some of the best collision specialists in the industry we have great painters who can perfectly match the paint no matter what the size of the job or how many colors are needed. Matching color is an art and a science and our experienced team are masters of their trade. With an eye for excellent paintwork and state-of-the-art equipment they’ll give your RV a flawless showroom finish. To find out what our paint and collision team can do for you, come to Wildwood and ask for Victor. He will work with you and your insurance company to make the process as stress-free as possible get you back on the road and having fun. Shown are samples of damaged fiberglass panel and custom made replacement. (pictured from left to right) Shown is the ’08 Signature with the sidewall removed and the new sidewall installed and in the paint booth. 4 Lorem Ipsum Dolor Spring 2016 Do you have these in your coach? Safety Devices Every RVer Must Have Typically there are four devices in your RV specifically designed for your safety, they are: Fire Extinguisher Smoke Detector Propane Detector CO Detector Let’s discuss each one: Your fire extinguisher is located near the main entrance door. READ THE OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS!!!!! Know how to use it and what type of fires it can be used on. DO NOT test the extinguisher by partially discharging it, internal pressure will escape and it will need to be replaced. An often overlooked consideration for a fire extinguisher in an RV is that road vibration will cause the powder inside to compact and may cause it to malfunction. You should invert your extinguisher monthly to keep the powder from compacting. Your smoke detector is very similar to the one you have in your home. Statistics show that most fire casualties are not caused by direct flame, but by less visible smoke. They typically take a standard 9V DC battery and will not operate without a battery installed. Smoke detectors should be tested at least weekly when the RV is in use, prior to each trip and when taking your RV out of storage. A typical smoke alarm will beep once a minute when the battery is getting low. Your propane detector is required safety equipment in your RV. The propane detector is also sensitive to other fumes such as hair spray (which may contain butane as a propellant) and sulfated batteries (which can smell like rotten eggs). Propane is heavier than air and generally will settle to the lowest point. The concentrated gas can exist for an extended period of time prior to reaching the propane detector to alert you of an issue. If you smell propane it is critical that you get out of your RV and turn off the propane cylinder. Your CO detector is required safety equipment for every RV that has an internal combustion engine or was built for one. If your RV has a generator or is set up for one, whether a generator has been installed or not, you must have a CO detector. Carbon Monoxide (CO) is colorless, odorless, and tasteless. Even low levels of CO poisoning have been known to cause brain damage and damage to vital organs. It is ALWAYS advised to evacuate the motorhome of your CO detector activates. Better to be safe than sorry. Once out of your RV, shut off all sources of CO, such as propane appliances, the engine, generator, etc. Open vents and windows to ventilate the RV. Determine the source of the alarm and have the problems corrected before resuming operation. Be especially aware of your neighbors running generators while at tail-gaiting events, races or rallies as their generator exhaust may be running into your RV through an open window or vent. As always, have fun and safe travels. With entry fees, cupcake sales and donations, proceeds came to $450.00. Thanks to everyone who participated, employees and customers alike! I’m the life of the party…Even if it lasts until 8 p.m. I’m very good at opening childproof caps...with a hammer. I’m awake many hours before my body allows me to get up. I’m smiling all the time because I can’t hear a thing you’re saying. I’m sure everything I can’t find is in a safe, secure place…somewhere. I’ve found the good thing about memory loss is that you get to meet new people every day!
