“Ah! Finally! Porsche builds their first “10”! This is one model that deserves its own
chapter. A major breakthrough came with this car – “CIS” fuel injection. CIS means
“Continuous Injection System.” Basically this system is not mechanical and it is not
electronic. It is a system that functions on pressure and vacuum. Simple to tune, this injection
system is highly efficient, and may deliver in excess of thirty miles per gallon during highway
operation. All the smoothness of the earlier carbureted 911 is back, plus some. All things

considered, this is the smoothness, most pleasant of all the early 911s built to date to drive.
The engine, at all RPM levels, is responsive and has sufficient torque to allow use of very low
engine speeds in city applications. Even 2600 RPM, for example, is comfortable for second
gear steady speed use.
The transmission is very smooth in these cars; problems from earlier models have been corrected. The 2.4 liter displacement engine delivers enough horsepower and torque to
enjoy almost any driving situation.
Fit and finish of the exterior of these cars when new was as good as any car could expect to be. Seams and paint were perfect, almost as the folks at the Porsche factory knew
they were building really special models.”
The 2.4L engine with CIS fuel injection provides 148 horse power, everyday drivability and fuel
economy of around 28+mpg. These cars are the last of the early 911 body style and Porsche did a
great job of blending the classic look with modern fuel economy and easy drivability.
This 911 Coupe, originally equipped with the Comfort Package and full "S" Options, has been in the "S" registry, and private collections for many years. It is a very well known Porsche, having been shown at many, many PCA events. The first recorded "S" registry owner was Eric Linden, founder
of the 911S Registry. Mr. Linden sold the car to another S Registry member, Mike Walker, in the early
90’s. Mr. Walker retained the car for many years until 2007, when it was purchased by a 3rd 911S
registry member and well known collector, James Hondros, who traded the car in to California Porsche Restoration, in Fallbrook, California last month. Documentation included with this car
includes several service documents from its 36 year history, the Original Owner’s Manual, Original
Owner’s Folder, Radio Pamphlet, Key Tags and other related documents. Also included is the Tool
Kit, Jack, Full-Sized Spare Tire and all the original keys: 2 Factory Black Keys and 1 Factory Red
Valet Key. This 911 is a matching numbers car, serial number: #9113101534 and retains its original engine: #6133061, and original transmission, #7335212. The car has a new NOS factory dash and the front seats have just been rebuilt in the original German materials by Autos International. The remainder of
the interior is original and in outstanding condition. The five 15X6 Fuchs wheels were just restored by
Al Reed to the original anodized finish with new 205 X R15 "V" rated radials. The suspension has
been upgraded with poly-brass bushings, 19mm and 22mm torsion bars and high performance shocks
resulting in a car that handles like a go-kart! The original mileage on the car is 106,233 miles. Dalmatian Blue color (sometimes referred to as Oxford Blue) and remains in very good condition. The
car retains the original finish on its floors, door jambs, engine compartment, front hood area, and belly
pan, which are still in excellent condition as finished by the Porsche Factory. California Porsche Restoration performed a cylinder leak down test which ranged between 2% and 3%, which is equivalent to or better than new factory leak down standards. The engine has had a top
end overhaul which included a complete valve job and the installation of the very desirable 911E cam
shafts explaining why the car is known in S Registry circles as a very fast 911T. There is no smoking
on start and the car is dry and doesn't leak. The original 5-speed transmission shifts smooth in every
gear and is a pleasure to drive. In addition to a Major Service being performed, wheel bearings were replaced and the car was 4 point aligned by Indy Performance. To our knowledge and according to previous owners, there is no record of the car ever having being involved in an accident. This is a highly pedigreed car of the highest order, and is a delight to see in its originality. This 911 Coupe is in excellent condition, it has not been restored and is original. This is a very
rare example and will be a welcome addition to any collection.
