We are expanding our business model to be both an auto and a mobility company. We continue to focus on and invest in our core business of designing, manufacturing, marketing, financing
and servicing terrific cars, SUVs, trucks and electrified vehicles. At the same time, we are aggressively pursuing emerging opportunities through Ford Smart Mobility, which is our plan to

With more than 15 million SYNC equipped vehicles on roads around the
world today – and 43 million expected by 2020 – Ford industry-leading
communications and entertainment technology provides customers and
developers an array of connectivity possibilities. The introduction of SYNC 3,
SYNC AppLink™ and SYNC Connect continues the momentum of Ford Motor
Company as an innovator of the connected car. These new SYNC features
provide faster, enhanced performance. And they allow customers to pair their
compatible smartphones with SYNC to securely control compatible apps
with either voice commands or handy controls that manage a vehicle
display screen.

Sustainability Blueprint
At Ford, we define sustainability as a business model that creates value
consistent with the long-term preservation and enhancement of environmental,
social and financial capital. Our sustainability strategy is embedded in our
One Ford business plan and consistent with our aim to deliver Great Products,
a Strong Business and a Better World. We are taking a portfolio approach –
called power of choice – to reduce vehicle carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions and
improve fuel efficiency. Our goal is to provide diversity in fueling options in order
to meet customers’ differing needs while improving vehicle energy efficiency
and long-term sustainability. We are developing a range of technologies to
improve the fuel efficiency of traditional gasoline- and diesel-powered vehicles.
Also, we are implementing alternative powertrains and alternatively fueled
automobiles, including biofuel vehicles and electrified vehicles.
