To add a touch of exclusivity to any brand, quality of the product and of the staff on the production side are of primary importance. This at least is what motor car manufacturers teach us.
A Ferrari is a jewel no doubt but if the designer is Pininfarina then it’s a work of art. And this
happens with other brands and in bodywork production, such as the vehicles which Bertone
designs for Aston Martin which retain their value through time much more than the original
ones without his initials, or the splendid cars Giugiaro initials for the entire automobile industry.
In the superyacht world all is more accentuated, for many are the players which contribute in
launching a brand, from designer work for the waterlines to the engineers with their plants,
from who designs interior décors to who develops exterior concepts. In most cases shipyards
work with selected design studios for lasting periods, which are responsible in maintaining a given brand’s styling in their new designs to make them more recognisable and connectible to the
brand itself. Others instead prefer to go for several designers’ signatures as a way of promoting
a more varied offer, while demonstrating by so doing, they know how to impose themselves as
all round ship builders capable of satisfying every kind of clientele. This is what Mondo Marine
precisely is. A one-off producer who can boast a heterogeneous fleet .The Explorer 50 metre
model “Tribù” which Luca Dini drew up for Luciano Benetton, the sporty 40 metre “Panther II”
signed by Giorgio Vafiadis and the elegant 41 metre “Nameless” by Cor D. Rover are all Mondo
Marine’s work just to mention a few motor yachts in the large fleet.
The list of the projects back at the yard is a long one and it clearly shows, if it were still neces-

sary, the ease with which Mondo Marine shifts from one kind to another. They go from ocean
going Explorer models designed by Sergio Cutolo to an innovative 45 metre motor sailer
signed by Massimo Franchini and Michele Ansaloni, without forgetting the sophisticated motor
yachts developed by Team For Design – Enrico Gobbi. This very last designer studio has recently distinguished itself for its innovative and futuristic concepts drawn up for some of the
most important yards of international renown, finally the M57 Eidos which Mondo Marine presented. This is a 57 metre in which the Venetian designer inserted nature inspired aesthetical
elements and successfully elaborated lines, which were innovative and elegant, but at the same
time sober and harmonious.“Gobbi has come up with a luxury 57 metre which reflects a truly

elegant design, with a well proportioned classy silhouette, which in the designer’s mind, somehow
recalls a sword” says Roberto Zambrini, Mondo Marine’s co-owner.Eidos looks elegant and also
dynamic , highlighted by details such as linings and finishes in the superstructure, which recall large
gills and by an imposing fin shaped hard top, which is amply contoured with cut glass panelling
protecting the fly bridge area while offering a bird’s eye view of the surrounding sea below. The
sort of dialogue between interiors and exteriors and the natural brightness in the interior areas
are the key points in every one of Enrico Gobbi’s projects . And the quest for this also applied to
M57 Eidos which sports large window panels in numerous niches along the topsides and in the
superstructure which enhance further contact with the exteriors also thanks to glass sliding doors
which act as a connecting link between the main areas , the living room, lounge and owner’s suite.
In developing this project Gobbi knowingly gave a right sense of balance and space between interior layout and the exterior and more so in the stern area , the one which when berthing stern
to clearly distinguishes one project from another. To this end Eidos offers a generous lounge area
in which to relax by the five metre long pool with comfortable sun pads. By night the area is lit
up and becomes an evocative convivial spot. The stern area also includes a beach club which is
furnished like an elegant lounge bar, which is just 15 square metres away from the water’s edge.
To enhance Eidos’s lines by night, there’s a specially designed sophisticated plant which highlights ,
the play of light and shadow generated by the design details themselves.
Team For Design – Enrico Gobbi also handled the interior design and décor inside, with a styling
which is in line with what the exteriors convey so well. The interiors are voluminous yet elegant
and are enhanced further by attentive lighting solutions which convey warmth and underscore
the precious materials of the upholstery and décor. The furniture and decorative accessories come
from Armani Casa collections, skins, fine fabric and essences are all of the highest quality adding a
special touch to the sober style inside. Floor to ceiling glass window panels add extra natural light
to the interiors and more especially to the owner’s suite, where contact with the exterior is further
enhanced by a private eight square metre terrace. For further information: Mondo Marine MC; 8,
