Implements higher-level directives, formulates procedures and programs to ensure high standards of food and beverage, recreational, and promotional programs. Establishes, reviews, and evaluates purchase of supplies, equipment, and resale merchandise. Establishes financial goals commensurate with market analysis of area or region. Prepares budget, analyzes financial results, and maintains solid financial condition of the facility and course. Promotes, organizes, schedules, and conducts tournaments, matches, special events, and daily courses activities. Conducts or ensures conduct of golf lessons. Oversees the operation of a pro shop and/or a restaurant. Provides expert advice on renovations, improvements, minor and major construction. Provides oversight for the efficient and effective operation of a golf course maintenance program which includes: golf cart fleet, golf course greens/tees, practice areas, ranges, irrigation systems, clubhouse grounds and landscaping, on-course restroom facilities, wooded areas, unused acreage and maintenance vehicles and equipment. Plans all maintenance and project work, applying agronomic and administrative expertise to achieve maintenance standards and long-range goals. Works with maintenance staff to ensure proper application of grass seed and/or sprigs, plant nutritional products, plant control products, soil and sand mixtures sufficient to maintain course within regulatory and industry standards. Acquires equipment and purchases necessary supplies to maintain golf course properties. Responsible for work force management, recruitment, and staff training to include safety and the proper methods and uses of motorized turf equipment and application of plant control product s. Manages real property resources and provides expert advice on renovations, improvements, and minor and major construction. Required to operate government vehicles, such as tractors, pickup truck, movers, and specialized motorized vehicles in support of grounds maintenance on the golf course.
