RC4 – THE PERFECT SETUP FOR WINNERS
The Hole Ski technology with its mass reduction remains
the key theme and focal point in development activities
at Fischer. The World Cup is our guide. Our top athletes
accept only the highest quality and the finest characteristics – and this is also reflected in the successes of the
Fischer Racing Team. The Hole Ski has already secured
numerous podium placings this season. World Champions and World Cup winners alike rely on the set-up from
Fischer and can no longer imagine racing without our
Soma-Tec boots. Ground-breaking innovations and technologies, high-tech with first-class quality. This is what the
Fischer brand stands for and guarantees.
When it comes to quality there are no compromises – we stay true to our principles.
We have, however, made notable changes to the design this year. White returns as the
trend colour and it makes our skis a little more unassuming and discreet. You will still find
Fischer‘s racing yellow, of course, as it represents both the Fischer brand and its values.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has decided in favour of our
racing products. You are in good and also high-profile company with numerous World
Champions and World Cup winners. Let me close by drawing your attention to our skiwear.
Fischer also guarantees that high-tech products of outstanding quality and only the finest
materials are used for its apparel, too.
Wishing you every success and endless enjoyment with our 10l11 Racing Line!

INTERNATIONAL RACING CAMP ERICH STURM
MICHAEL VON GRÜNIGEN RACE SKI CAMP 2010
The International Fischer Racing Camp was founded in cooperation with the racing school
run by Erich Sturm, himself an ex-racer and Olympic coach of the Austrian national team.
Custom racing weeks in Hintertux, Austria, are offered in summer and autumn for children,
junior and adult skiers. Erich Sturm has put together various training programmes for the
Fischer Racing Camp which can be adapted to suit each individual course participant. As
on previous occasions, Michael von Grünigen of Switzerland, twice World Champion and
four-times overall winner of the World Cup in Giant Slalom, will be assisting as guest coach.
At the training centre in Hintertux you can train in the best conditions on a slope that is
cordoned off especially for you.
Enjoy skiing with a passion for racing - this is exactly the message Michael von Grünigen
has for children aged between nine and fourteen at the Fischer Junior Race Camp in Switzerland. And it would be hard to find anyone more qualified to do so than the former Giant
Slalom champion, who himself is the father of three sons (all enthusiastic skiers). Michael
von Grünigen on the idea behind the Race Camp: “I’ve made a point of concentrating on
children who are at an age where they are normally not organised in squads that have their
own camps. I aim more to show them how things will be later on when they make it into
a team and give them an insight into the daily routine of training and competition so they
are motivated to carry on. This is only possible if you show them the beauty of skiing and
competition and if they enjoy it all. Which is why we don’t only shoot through gates at our
camp – we also take some time for the halfpipe and skiercross.”

SKIS WITH WORLD CUP TUNING
The hole ski, already used by Fischer in the speed disciplines between 1975 and 1985, is
back in the World Cup. And the new hole ski made it to the podium from the very beginning.
This is the reason why we have included it in this collection, fully in line with Fischer‘s philosophy: all the current developments in the World Cup have to be integrated in our racing
skis. It is for this reason that the constructions of the 10 I 11 Fischer race ski range feature
all the details of the skis used by World Cup skiers. Fischer racing skis are made in Austria
by skilled hands and with true craftsmanship. And only the best materials are used for this
purpose. Giant Slalom and Slalom models are available with different finishes: S-Tuning or
T-Tuning. The skis are the same for both tuning options. T-Tuning skis, however, feature
the new hole ski technology. The hole in the shovel reduces the weight in the front and the
mass of the ski is concentrated on its centre. This construction enables faster, constant
edge grip with a smoother action and better turning. T-Tuning also requires more working
steps than S-Tuning. With T-Tuning, for example, the skis are aligned manually, there is also
a special measuring procedure for stiffness and additional stone grinding is used. T-Tuning
skis are also somewhat stiffer than the S-Tuning skis. We recommend skis with T-Tuning for
European Cup and FIS racers as they are tuned for slopes that have been iced with water,
for artificial snow and for higher speeds and larger radiuses.
Worldcup Tuning
Edge strength, material and angle
correspond to World Cup standards. Special base structure gives the ski a completely smooth
running surface with exceptional
gliding properties.
Air Carbon TI
Extremely light, extremely
strong. The Air Carbon combined with Titanium ensures
easier handling and optimum
ski performance.
orIgInal V-PosItIon
This is how we stand, walk and win.
Soma-Tec boots are different to conventional ski boots because of a unique stand position of the feet on the
skis. The natural V-position of the feet is retained and the body‘s centre of gravity lies directly above the middle
of the ski. This means you have perfect power transfer, optimum grip and absolute precision.
MAXIMUM POWER TRANSFER
SOMA-TEC harnesses all power
exactly in the skiing direction.
• Perfect power transfer
• Maximum acceleration
• Less effort required
ON CENTER POSITION
The stand position lies
exactly on the centre of
the ski.
• Perfect edge grip
• Faster and easier edge switches
ORIGINAL V-POSITION
The natural V-position of the feet
is retained inside the boot.
• Better control
• Less strain on joints
• The natural motion sequence is retained
GIANT SLALOM
RC4 WORLDCUP GS
The original World Cup models for Giant Slalom. Two different models satisfy individual
requirements. All skis with T-Tuning feature the Hole Ski construction and are a must for all
racers. The skis comply with the FIS ruling, as you would expect. For women: R > 23 m,
and for the men‘s models: R > 27 m.

The radiuses from the World Cup are also used for Slalom skis. All skis with T-Tuning feature
the Hole Ski construction with the hole in the tip and the notch in the tail. The 150 cm long
women‘s model is not FIS compliant. For this reason it should be used only by younger
racers (Children II) as an extremely high-quality Slalom ski. All other ski models (lengths
165 and 155 cm) comply with the FIS ruling and are wider than 63 mm (ski waist) for men
and women.

SKI TUNING
CARE AND PREPARATION
PREPARATION - FILING EDGES
1. Remove the sidewall: The sidewall ridge is filed
away so the edge can be sharpened more easily.
2. Filing the edges: the idea edge angle for the
sides of racing skis is 86 – 87° for perfect edge grip.
Fischer racing skis have an edge angle of 0.3°
(Slalom and Giant Slalom) and 1.0 – 1.3° (Super G
and Downhill) when they leave the company. Filing
jigs can be obtained in specialist sports shops. Step
1 rough file, step 2 fine finish using diamond file.
2. Apply wax: The wax is melted using a waxing iron
and dripped onto the base of the ski.
Note: The waxing iron is at the correct temperature when the wax melts uniformly without forming
smoke.
3. Iron on wax: The temperature needs to be set to
between 110 and 130°C. The waxing iron is drawn
across the base at a constant speed in the skiing
direction.
Note: Do not iron backwards and forwards or
concentrate on one spot because there is a risk of
the base overheating.
4. Allow the ski to cool for 5 to 10 minutes before
removing excess wax. Use a sharp perspex edge
to remove the wax by applying constant, gentle
pressure in the direction of skiing.
PREPARATION - WAXING
1. Clean the base: Dirt, dust and wax remnants can
be removed using a cleaning solvent obtainable from
specialist sports shops.
Important: Before moving on to the next steps, dry
the ski well (leave it outside for at least 15 minutes).
An alternative is hot waxing (iron on wax and immediately scrape off soft gliding wax).
5. Brush the running surface with a nylon and/or
combibrush in the direction of skiing. For the best
possible gliding results, the structure of the base
must be brushed thoroughly to remove any residual
wax.
