Are you a Christian?
When I say… “I am a Christian”
I’m not shouting, ”I’m clean living,”
I’m whispering “ I was lost,
Now I’m found and forgiven.”
When I say… “I am a Christian”
I don’t speak of this with pride.
I’m confessing that I stumble
and need Christ to be my guide.
When I say… “I am a Christian”
I’m not trying to be strong.
I’m professing that I’m weak
And need His strength to carry on.
When I say… “I am a Christian”
I’m not bragging of success.
I’m admitting I have failed
And need God to clean my mess.
When I say… “I am a Christian”
I’m not claiming to be perfect.
My flaws are far too visible
But, God believes I am worth it.
When I say… “I am a Christian”
I still feel the sting of pain.
I have my share of heartaches
So I call upon His name.
When I say… “I am a Christian”
I’m not holier than thou.
I’m just a simple sinner
Who received God’s good grace, somehow!
When you look in the mirror,
Do you really see a Christian?
In Christ’s Love

TGIF means Friday Supper Club at St. Alban’s,
which we hold the second Friday of most
months beginning at 7 p.m. A great big THANK
YOU to Alice Slisher for coordinating this
great get-together for several decades. (You
read that correctly). Thank you, Alice, for asking me to do it.
Hosting Supper Club is the easiest entertaining
you’ll ever do! You cook nothing! Appetizers,
main dishes, and desserts show up to placed
buffet style wherever there’s a little room.
OK, a pot might need an outlet or a warm oven…
It’s BYO, which for many Episcopalians means
wine. That’s OK. Hosts provide paper goods

Summary of Finances for month ending May 2016
Total General Fund income was $22,920.26 with General Fund expenses of $21,608.91 leaving a positive balance of $1,311.34 for the month and a positive balance of $14,061.32 YTD (year to date.) Pledges are up at
52.02% with a YTD target of 41.67%. Pledge income is up $22,900 from this time last year. At this time we
are right on target for both operating income and operating expenses.
Results from the Spring Flea Market are as follows:
Income Received = $4,116,73
Expenses Paid
- $277.89 food
- $841.50 for flowers
= $2,997.34 (net profit)
As you can see we had a banner spring flea market considering the weather. I would like to especially thank
all of the volunteers that made this event great. Special thanks also goes out to Michelle and Eric Heathershaw
for “restarting” the flower sale which contributed greatly to the bottom line.
If you have any questions or concerns regarding church finances, please send an email to

ST. ALBAN’S CHRISTIAN LEARNING CENTER
This month we will be discussing the animals that live in the ocean, beach life, and celebrating Christmas in July! We will learn
about the Fourth of July and the season of summer as well.
The letters being reviewed are C, D, E, and F. In Math, we will review the numbers 2, 3, 4 & 5. The shapes to be reviewed are
the oval, the triangle, the square and the rectangle. In Science, we will explore fish and plants that are found in the ocean and
create an ocean in a bottle!
Our bowling field trips for July will be Friday, July 1st, Friday, July 15th, & Friday, July 29th.
The Learning Center will be closed on Monday, July 4th , in observance of the Fourth of July! We hope you have a safe and
enjoyable holiday!
We still have some openings for our fall program! We are filling up so if you know of anyone who is looking for a preschool
for their 3, 4 or 5 year old, please tell them about our wonderful program!
As always, please check out our website for more info and ongoing activities here at the Center. You can also check us out on
Facebook! I am continuously putting up pictures of our fun activities and also of the construction process!
God Bless,
Rindy Foltz

for Third Cross!
Cops and Kids Program
We are collecting new and gently used books
for kindergarten through 5th grade children
of Reading, PA. The volunteer group gives a
free book and a positive
encounter with the police
of Reading. A basket is
provided for your donation
as you enter the front
doors. Thank You.
In September, all will have an opportunity to take home one of
the only two remaining special
crosses created by our very own
Ed Morgan.
There were five unique crosses created from the
wood remaining after scaling down the cross from
the old church that now hangs on the side alter. The
fourth cross will be awarded to whomever places
the winning bid into the box. Don’t miss out on your
chance to win one of these treasured keepsakes.
We are currently updating parishioners contact information for a new directory. In a cost
saving measure, the vestry would like current email addresses as we move to send the Sonlight via email. Please fill out a single form with your current contact information for both
projects. Also, note that if you do not want your email address printed in the directory,
please indicate that on the form or send your email address to [email protected]
Email addresses are only for the purpose of sending the Sonlight. If you would prefer not
to receive the Sonlight via email, please indicate that on the form as well. Copies of the
Sonlight will be available in the Narthex. Forms will be located in the Narthex and should
be returned to Carol Anderson’s mailbox (bottom right mailbox) or placed under Susan Angsten’s office door as soon as possible. Thank you!
