You Must Have Seen It on TV!
You can’t always believe what you see on TV, but you must have taken to
heart what you saw at Convention from Jason Stiles and JR Meza
(pictured in their presentation snuggies on the bottom right).
Congratulations to each one of you, because in just one day, you
generated 6,735 points of contact and over $1.65 million in revenue!
Joe Christie, VP, Sales said, “I want to thank all of our participants. It was
an outstanding effort enterprise wide!” In addition to the highest potential
revenue, this ISFD marked the highest participation ever by our franchise
partners.
Excellent job putting what you saw about selling into practice. You
rehearsed your 30-second commercial, targeted the right customers,
asked for the business and remembered your ABC’s (Always Be Closing).
Can’t wait until the next ISFD in the Spring!
G6 Communications Team
Our Most Unique POC
The team at Waco (South), TX
#1198 put their best “wheel” forward
at a local trucking school. Having to
park their car among all the big rigs
made a great ice breaker for them to
begin their sales pitch.
MOD Allison McIver at #6051
Greensboro, NC is ready to sell
to anybody and anything for
ISFD!
GM Andrea Kelly at Laramie, WY
#4642 planned her ISFD using three
tools. First, she scoured the local
newspaper looking for realtors.
Second, she reviewed previous
sales logs to check on companies
she could visit to thank for their
business and remind them about her
property for future business. Then,
she read previous 6-Packs to get
ideas for various markets and sales
techniques in the Everyone Sells
articles.
GM Jennifer Sanford and her
team at London, Ontario #5703
are up and out early on ISFD to
begin their sales itinerary.
Did you realize every
ISFD POC resulted in
an average $245.19
sale? Imagine how an
emphasis on sales
could
impact
your
property’s revenue!

Remodeling Turns into
Long Term Business for
El Paso, TX #6001

#235 stopped at a local truck stop to
present her property. The truck
driver below thought he was
sleeping in his truck that night, but
Beverly refused to take no for
answer and sold him on her
property. His clean, comfortable
room at Motel 6 that night was
much better than his truck!
An eight-phase remodeling project
beginning in January, 2015 for an
independent living center will
require 12 rooms for about six
weeks each. GM Samuel Ortiz has
a verbal commitments working out
the final arrangements, and the
client has set up a CP account to
make payment easier.

their
morning
successes, they all hit the road
again to make more sales.

that have had their workers stay

towing companies.
Heart for Service POC
GM Sherneane Abdula of Euless, TX
#1345 and GM Norman Scott from
North Richland Hills, TX #36 visited
the Armed Forces headquarters to
express gratefulness for their service
to our country. The military recruiters
were not aware of discount to military
personnel and their spouses. This
was a great selling point for them.

 From Albuquerque (North), NM, #6029: A construction company has a

 GM Bobby Howard from Cross Lanes, WV #1131 spoke with a manager
at a truck repair shop about the out-of-town tractor-truck drivers that come
off the interstate at our exit for truck repair. He was a very friendly guy and
said he has sent drivers to our location before In fact, he had someone
coming that day because they lost power in their truck. The manager said
some drivers had used one of our competitors close by, but they are too
expensive. Score another one for Motel 6 rates!

Our Unique POCs
A Funny Thing Happened on ISFD
Our Most Fun/Zany POC
A helpful receptionist called
Albuquerque, NM #6029 to
give them leads for ISFD!
MOD Magda Hernandez and GSR Johny Brito at Mojave, CA #359 stopped at a
pumpkin patch. The owners were so appreciative of the visit. In fact, they gave
Magda and Johny both free pumpkins!
The receptionist at a cleaning
company in Sacramento didn’t
need any rooms for work, but
she booked two rooms for
personal use at Mojave, CA
#359!
The sales team from Tulare, CA #264 didn’t go hungry or thirsty on ISFD
because they visited Rosa Brothers Milk Company. In addition to giving their
sales pitch, they went on a short tour to see how the milk is processed and how
the ice cream is made. Then they tasted a wide variety of milk and ice creams.
Their favorite ice creams were pistachio and banana, but the most interesting
flavor was the root beer milk!
The team at Tulare, CA #264
pulled into a gas station and
saw several Monster Trucks.
They talked to the owners who
were headed to a car show
further north. The team shared
their fliers and then helped them
book rooms at a Motel 6 along
their route.
Rick Williams (#4448) was getting into the ISFD spirit a bit early while watching
Monday Night Football at a local sports bar. He noticed a group of painters who
were in town doing some work on a commercial building so he walked over and
asked if they had a place to stay. He gave them a business card and then
helped them by calling the motel to book two rooms for them. One of the rooms
had to stay over and received another booking. The painters will be in Missoula
off and on so this will bring repeat business.
When the sales team from
Modesto, CA #1321 stopped at
a carpet store, they found out
the sales manager was already
staying at their property. He
then booked an additional night!
Modesto, CA #1321 stopped by a trucking school. Although they already had a
corporate account, the business still begged for the goodie box!
As fun as Hayward, CA #1328 had getting out in nice weather, walking around
and getting some exercise on ISFD, nothing is more fun than actually making the
sale. The most fun of the day was having two contacts who were looking for six
rooms for at least four nights!
A gate wasn’t going to stop GM Toya Jackson and her sales team at East
Peoria, IL #80! They weren’t sure how to get into the boat club so they just
parked in front of the gate and called the boat club office. A boat owner let them
in, and although the office was closed, they talked to various boat club members.
The owners enjoyed showing their boats and are interested in booking rooms for
future boating events.
Angie (#1046) made a stop at the bank in Brookfield, WI on her way for ISFD. A
new teller saw the boxes sitting on her front seat with her property’s ISFD gifts.
Finding out that Angie works at Motel 6, the teller booked a room for a Halloween
party that was in the area.
GM Debbie Clark from Van Horn,
TX #4024 visits a home health
care agency.
GM Alford Findlay at Aurora, IL #1147 stopped at a skating rink with a crowded
parking lot. He noticed a flier for an upcoming skate tournament and asked the
manager about it. The rink hosts many tournaments each year with most teams
coming from out of town. The manager will now list Motel 6 on their website as a
lodging option! Alford also scored free passes for a skate sessions for his sons.

More First Time Succeses
 The sales team at Swift Current, SK #5717 found out about a great opportunity with a construction company
that has a two-year project beginning in Swift. They will be looking for rooms for 25 to 30 men during the winter
and for over 400 men during the summer! They also spoke with a manager at an energy company that had been
staying with a competitor. He liked our direct billing option and is now requesting that Motel 6 be the first call for
lodging for his guys.
 Tulare, CA #264 was more than happy to share their rates with Patricia at a construction company. Her
company is removing old train tracks and rebuilding a bridge. Patricia liked knowing Motel 6 had a weekly rate,
and she visited the property during lunch. She booked two rooms for two weeks and expects more crew
members to need rooms as they still have a couple of months to finish this project.
 A local hospital referred GM Toya Jackson from East Peoria, IL #80 to a housing facility for families who have a
someone in the hospital. When that facility is overbooked, they will now refer their guests to Motel 6!
 Kelly L. Jones, Account Executive Special Markets, found out that one of our existing
clients, National Motor Club, has contracted with SAS, a third party member benefits
company to manage their supplier partnerships. Kelly met with SAS on ISFD. Her key
contact told Kelly that she will open the door for Motel 6 to obtain other member-based
association clients that SAS is working with now as well as some new prospects that are in
the process of signing a contract with them. This new business has the potential of
significant incremental revenue of $80K-100K+ over the next year to Motel 6. This should
be the start of a great relationship that could result in in two clients within a couple of weeks
that she would like to establish a partnership agreement with us on.
Supporting Another
Local Business
Motel 6 knows how to always
