Déco News MANUEL CANOVAS presents its 2016’s collection This Manuel Canovas 2016 collection transports us to India on a journey along the Coromandel Coast, amidst the seventeenth century vestiges of colonial Pondicherry, surrounded by scents of musk and garlands of frangipani flowers... In a harmony of Canovas colours, our fabrics evoke the ornamental patterns drawn in chalk on the pavements of the French district of this former colony. In bright, fresh hues, this collection features broad ikat prints, relief medallions revisited, traceries of symmetrical embroidered ribbons, stripe weaves replicating the decorative borders of saris, paisley prints magnified ad infinitum, stylised jasmine and banyans flowers... December's Interior Design word Ikat : Indian weaving technique where the warp and weft threads are measured and dyed before being woven.
